My three favorites are DA*55 (best of the lot imo), Tamron 28-75, and Tamron 90 macro.

I guess it's kind of blasphemous on this site...but I bought a Sony A6000 for takumar duty. Great, light weight little camera to complement my taks. Plus the focus peaking on it is so much better than the peaking on my K30 or K01.

I have owned 3 of the limiteds in my Pentax experience. The 21, 40 and 70. The 70 I traded away for the DA*55 and while I love the *55 (one of my favorite lenses) I do miss the 70 and have considered getting another copy.
The 40 was my first and while it took great pictures right away it took me some time to warm up to it due to it's diminutive size. It just felt awkward at first. But now I can't tell you how much I value a nice small, well built prime. So easy to carry and very inconspicuous.
The 21 is probably my all time favorite lens. So small...such a great focal length...build quality is what you would expect from a limited...and the colors and character of this lens (I'm looking at you starbursts) are incredible. If I was forced to get rid of all but one lens it would be the 21.
So yeah...in my experience the limiteds live up to the hype. And pretty affordable really for what you get in the DA limiteds!

The 50's that I currently have are
SMC Takumar 50 F1.4
M 50 f4 macro
M 50 f2
Auto Tak 55 F1.8
Vivitar 55 f2.8 macro
Helios 58mm f2
DA limited 40 f2.8 (close enough)
And finally DA*55 F1.4 (which I believe has ended my chasing after 50's...it is so good!)

I have the DA *55 and it is by far my favorite portrait lens. Everything about it seems made for portraiture. I also have the Tamron 90 and it is also a very capable lens for portraits (and you have the versatility of also having a really nice macro in one package). I would also throw an honorable mention in for the Tamron 28-75...a very useful zoom...and the SMC Takumar 135mm f2.5.

I have the M50 macro and think it is a great lens. Extremely sharp and very easy to focus. Build quality is great on it and it has beautiful rendering. It's been a while since I've used it but it also take some pretty nice portraits. I will say that some might be drawn to the m42 tak version of the lens because (and correct me if I'm wrong)...the early version of it is a full 1:1 macro while M, K, etc versions all only go to 1:2.

I have owned a pretty good number of 50's through the years. I currently have the DA *55 which is an amazing modern autofocus lens with beautiful rendering. But there IS JUST SOMETHING about the feel/experience/rendering of the taks (especially the 50s and 55s and even my SMC 135 f2.5) that is just unique. They feel so right in the hands and they take pictures unlike that of many modern lenses. I guess they just have a special quality about them in my opinion. I wouldn't ever let go of my collection of taks. They are a permanent fixture on my K-01.

My favorite zoom that I own. Versatile and I love the focal length and constant 2.8 app.

My favorite is my DA *55...just a great lens with wonderful rendering and 3D pop. I also use my Tamron 28-75 and my Tammron 90 macro which are both very capable portrait lenses too.

I love the 10-17...one of my favorites. And it is pretty versatile in tight areas so I think it is in. I also think the *55 is in to pair with the K30 for a weather proof pairing. Then I can't decide. I love the 21 limited...probably my most used lens in such a compact package.
I'm not sure wether to go with the tamron 28-75 for convenience sake or the tamron 90 macro for a little more reach and macro if I want.
Decisions...decisions. I like hearing everyone's opinions...would love to hear more.

Going on vacation next week. Going to be headed to Boston, NYC, and Cape Cod. Just for giggles...out of my lenses (found in signature)...which would you bring? Would prefer not taking too much equipment.
