I don't see any markings but the colors look like U.S.Steel colors.

Matthew, thanks. It's either from the PRB or from Utah. Probably going to a power plant in Texas.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did, and got a pop-up window which instructed me to add the URL from the image in my gallery.

I'm confused! I followed instructions and got a red x. How can I delete this thread in its entirety and start over?

I've had my Nikon Scanner for about 15 months. Still learning its features and functions. Although it has a separate setting for scanning Kodachromes, I find that I spend more time scanning them to get acceptable images, as a rule.
Some time around 1995 I switched from Kodachrome to Fujichrome and still haven't regretted it, especially since it wasn't too long after '95 that Kodak's film business began its decline.

Appreciate the comments. I had my LX on a Bogen heavy tripod. Time exposure at f5.6. I painted the front of the engine and the foreground with light from a 1 million candlepower halogen "light gun" ($19.95 at Wal Mart). I call it my LED Gun although I use it in halogen mode only. It is rechargeable.
I scanned the fujichrome image in my Nikon Coolscan scanner, and made adjustments in light, contrast, hue, intensity, and did a final crop for composition. I do this with all my slides. Thanks again.

Vandalism. Someone released the brakes which caused the engines to gravity roll down the siding. The engines' momentum carried them off the tracks and into the lumber yard.

I'm a long time Pentax user, specializing in railroad photography. Looking forward to sharing my images with Pentax Forum members.
My cameras of choice are three Pentax LX SLR's. I have an arsenal of Pentax fixed focal-length lenses ranging from a 28mm to a 300mm A*.
Think I'll jump in here with a sample photo.Attachment 4788
