I found the link I was looking for on how to do it here: Perfect Focus Every time

I had found the instructions on Page 98 of the K-1 Manual, but my brain just couldn't figure it out.

Portraiture | Pentax 77 1.8 vs Sigma 85 1.4 | Experiences with each?

I have both the Sigma 85mm 1.4 & the 77mm. I use both of them for portraits. If I had to pick between the 2, I would stick with my Sigma. On my K1, I like the IQ better. But, that's me and I mostly use it in my small studio. However, the Sigma has taken great shots outside as well on portraits. Good luck and let us know what you decided.

Great News After 72 Days

There was a knock on my door today and when I got there I found a package from FedEx. ( I got a notice I was to receive a package today, but didn't know from who)
It was my K3ll back from Pentax/Ricoh. I opened it & found a brand new K3ll. It works perfectly including the HDMI port.

I'm very happy to have my K3ll back and it being new even happier. I'm not even going to go into what happened at Precision. All that matters is that Pentax did the right thing & I didn't even have to ask. From the time it went to Pentax & back to me was under two weeks. If I had it all up from the time it went to Precision it was 2 months, 1 week, 4 days. (72 days)

Thanks to all who offered advice & followed the drama.

Praise for Precision

My K3ll is going back for the 4th time, however this time it's going to Pentax Corporate Office. Even after 3 times of not fixing the problem, I'm not throwing hate toward Precision.

They have some very caring & competent people working for them. Both Elie and Sharlene went above & beyond to try to get my camera fixed.

They must have some talented people working there because when they sent my camera back this last time they had taken pictures of some of the techs and lots of every brand name camera's. I'm guessing, but there is someone, or something in the way they process their work which needs some fine tuning.

A lot of people are getting fast turn around times and are more than happy with the results. The other problem could be just too much work and not able to find experience techs to do the quality work in a timely manner.

I'm happy for the OP & I hope we hear more great stories in the future as well. My K3ll & my K-1 has a lot of warranty left on them & I want to hear praise & great outcomes with them.

2 Times to Precision & Nothing

If I lose my sense of humor, then I lose. One of my favorite quotes is, "Every time you get upset at something, ask yourself if you were to die tomorrow, was it worth wasting your time being angry?"

Sharlene at Precision was very apologetic about getting my email address wrong. It took here almost an hour to get it to me. She called me a number of times to ask me if I got it, so I know she was doing her best.

Of course, as soon as I get the UPS shipping slip, Pentax emails me a UPS shipping slip. So, now it's going to go to Pentax. I'm not wanting to email Sharlene at Precision after all her hard work. Oh well, I know I'm better off letting it go to Pentax.

So, I'm about to pack it up and take it to the UPS store. I added a few labels and a note in hopes they will see the problem. I also made sure that at the bottom of the letter I put:

I'm just having fun with ya all, but please fix the HDMI OUT PORT.

Here's some shots before it heads into the dark abode.

This a my 1st picture using my 1st film SLR (Pentax ME Super). It's also my 1st picture that I used a Pentax Bellows & Slide Copier using my 1st Full Frame camera (Pentax K-1) to Digitize to import into Lightroom and turn it from a Negative to a Positive. It a little soft, but I'll work on that, but it turned out better than a Pro developing store was able to do. Now, that's a lot of 1st's.

I had a Sansa MP3 player that went through a full wash cycle. (Including hot water & extra wash time) Needless to say it was DOA and the glass had a crack in it. However, I went through a number of methods to dry it out. In the end, I gave up and threw it in a drawer.

A few years later, I was cleaning out the drawer and saw my Sansa. I charged the battery and Bam! It was like new again. If you can't sell it throw it in a drawer. Who Knows?

What a fantastic shot! I take it you were not in the bay area when this was taken. I lived in N. CA for a number of years and the best I saw was the Golden Gate Bridge.

He said in one part it would be much easier with a FF. Well my K-1 will be here next week. Would I still need the billows & tubes and where could I buy them?

I looked it over, and my money would stay with the Rogue. The Rogue, IMHO has a little more ways to bend the light, including using it as a snoot.

I go this way:
* Shoot RAW > Lightroom CC > Photoshop > Color Efex Pro 4 > Final Result

Also, it just depends on the shot. Some look great in RAW. (Very Seldom) I like doing my own touches, like "White Balance & all the sliders to see what looks best. I get better every time I use it, and I've been using Lightroom since 2011. It takes time.

I'll let other answer some of your other questions. However, PEF is a Pentax File. Most use DNG as it's a standard for the most part in photography.

I'm in. I've done SIG once back in 2011 and this month Jan 2016. It has really been a learning experience using the Pentax 50-135mm 2.8. I still going to stay there and use one lens, but jumping over here to start using the 43 Pentax lenses I own. I look forward to see what everyone is shooting, and love feedback, (good or bad) about my shots.

I did a month back in 2010 or 2011, so it's time to jump back into the game.

I have enough lenses (43 as of today) to do a lens a month for the next 3 1/2 yrs. (I'm also here to state that having a LBA does not make me a better photographer)

So, I'll start off with my Pentax 50-135m with it either on my K-20, K-5 or K-3 ll. I'm open to tips, suggestions and even rude comments with a happy face behind it. :)
