Just FYI I went the EBay route and sold the K-5iis for $340 and the 55-300 for $87.
Seems pretty fair to me. I have to pay the fees but way less frustratin I think.

Hey all.
Just a question - I have a K-5iis with around 21,000 actuations. I've been trying to sell it in the forums with a 55-300 for $375 but haven't generated much interest.
So what do you guys think? A K-5iis in almost mint condition (theres a little scratch on the mode dial) and a lens - am I asking too much for it?
her's a link to the sale: System sell off - just the K-5iis in Great condition left! - PentaxForums.com
Thanks,
Brad

I’m really just throwing the 55-300 in at this price. I can go down to $365 but otherwise I will just try eBay.
Let me know if you are interested! ---------- Post added 10-30-17 at 09:21 PM ---------- DA 15mm sold

I've recently gotten a Fui x-t20 and have been very impressed so far with the handling and image quality.
I have a 15mm limited for my K5-ii and am wondering if anyone has adapted a 15 mm to a fuji x mount and what were your results?
I understand that I would have to get an adaptor with an aperture ring and would lose autofocus but it seems to me with such a short distance to infinity on the 15mm that it wouldn't be very difficult to get used to - anyone with any thoughts or experience doing it?
Thanks,
brad

Pentax K-5iis: $355
Excellent condition. The only thing that stops it from being mint condition is a small scratch on the mode dial (as pictured). That came from something rubbing on it when it was in a diaper bag - it hasn't ever been dropped. Shutter has 20,196 actuations. Comes with box, charger, battery, strap, original box and manual smc DA 15mm f/4 ED AL Limited: $300 ***SOLD*** An excellent copy of the mind-ruling, starbursting, green-banded DA 15. Purchased here in the forums. Has no marks and good felt on the hood. Clean glass. All original equipment and box. Sharp as a tack. Sigma 30 f1.4 EX DC: $225 ***SOLD*** Excellent condition. Great for indoors low light, or as an APS-C standard prime. I've used it in a lot in museums and in-doors using available light for running toddler.
Includes everything shown - hood, caps, case, box.
Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro HSM (Contemporary): $220 ***SOLD*** Excellent condition, sharp and fast focus with original caps, hood, box
I'm moving to mirrorless and am selling my Pentax gear to support the move. Everything has been babied and I'm sad to see it all go. Prices include shipping to continental United States and any PayPal fees.
PM me with any questions.

I've only used the 30 1.4 ex. I did need to spend a little time with a focus chart to get it dialed in but as soon as I did that I've had some excellent shots in this lens. 1.4 is a very small plane of focus and I think that many people find it challenging but for my primary use for it - indoors, low light, I find it dependable and with some excellent results.
I'd save the extra $200 and get the EX personally.

I'm selling my Sigma 17-70 in the marketplace right now - $255 gets you a sizeable step up from the kit lens.

I don't know why the Sigma 30 1.4 isn't getting that much love - I use it almost exclusively for indoor shots on my k5-iis. I have 2 very young kids and it is giving me plenty of keepers. Here are two (admittedly not perfect) examples. The lens is capable of much sharper photos than these but I'm at work and these examples are what I had on hand. It produces a generally very sharp image in even tough indoor lighting in my opinion.

It was a private seller on a local Craigslist type thing. Good advice on the warranty card I like it.
I actually started to feel guilty about if I was taking advantage so I called him up over the weekend and made sure he knew he had sold me an S rather than just a 2 and he said he was just basing the sale price on making a profit from what he had paid so I shouldn't have worried. Nice guy. Don't know how he had gotten it so cheap but I'm glad I reached out to him. Camera works great I've taken around 30 pics so far without any issues.

I responded to an online ad for a k-5ii for $900. Advertised as New in box grey market, warranty card from Japan. I went to check it out - it was a K-5iiS. Everything in the box, still wrapped, seemed legit - Shutter count when I snapped a photo to test it out came up as 001 in the folder.
I confirmed with him the price paid and went my merry way.
I am still pinching myself!
Soooooo worth it for a no-warranty IIs? I am just being nervous if something goes wrong in the next year but I understand that Pentax would still repair it without warranty card I would just have to pay for it.
Its quite the upgrade from my Kx I'll tell you that much....

Wow Adam I'm surprised to hear you say that even at the same price a k-30 is a better value than a k5ii.
I know the ii will be slower in processing so u will have to watch that hourglass longer but do you not feel that the larger buffer and better raw quality is worth the sluggishness trade off if they are the exact same price?
As for the video it seems like there are a number of complaints about the video quality of the 30 especially with the shake reduction turned on which can create pretty bad artifacts... At least according to the YouTube videos I saw. My understanding was that the k5 and ii don't have that particular hang up.

Just called Samys - they said they don't have any plans to carry the k-5ii or iis - just the k30.
I think its crazy that in the entire Los Angeles county there are 0 authorized pentax dealers. I called the ones listed on the Pentax/ricoh website and none of them are carrying pentax gear anymore - except for Samys, which apparently is only carrying the k30.
Sounds like Pentax is not supporting its brick and mortar presence at all - not a good sign for their comittment to these cameras?
