"If you want to avoid an increase in saturation, you'll have to develop your Raw files with software..." No, you don't have to do that. Making the realization that changing contrast can affect saturation allows you to make your own default settings.
To me, every camera's contrast is too high, and I like lots of dynamic range with natural colors. Therefore for example, on regular ordinary partially-sunny to sunny days, my Custom Image settings (sans sharpness which is lens dependent) are as follows: Natural
Saturation: +2
Hue: 0
High/Low Key Adj.: +1
Contrast: -2
Contrast Highlight Adj.: -4
Contrast Shadow Adj.: 0
On overcast days though my Custom Image is set to: Bright
Saturation: +3
Hue: 0
High/Low Key Adj.: +2
Contrast: -2
Contrast Highlight Adj.: -4
Contrast Shadow Adj.: +2
My Saturation settings are due to my Contrast settings.

A pro camera is any camera you do professional (meaning money making) work with. In other words, any camera can be viewed as a pro camera.

Why not? Skill counts too. Just because his gear costs more and he is a pro photog does not mean he gets better pictures than you. There are plenty of no-talents out there with good gear and their images suck.

You're welcome. I had a first generation DSLR that to get the WB right under tungsten lighting I had to resort to using a traditional color balancing filter. DSLR's have come a long way in just ten years.

You don't make adjustments for manual lenses, because the focusing is done manually.

Hello folks,
I'm a loyal Minoltian at heart, however I have begun to use a K20D recently so that I can place my Minolta Maxxum 7D into semi-retirement. (I also shoot Zeiss Ikon, Yashica, Chinon, Nikon, Exakta, and Sigma besides all my beloved Maxxum bodies though too.)
I am looking foward to using my K20D, and think it will turn out to be a real winner.
My Flickr photostream is here: Flickr: zekewhipper's Photostream
Be that as it may, here is something I recently posted over on Flickr that just may be news to some folks.
"I learned something surprising today. I found out that if you have the AF function divorced from the shutter release, that the intervelometer function won't operate correctly.
In other words, if you have Custom Setting 14 set to "2" or Off, that when it comes time for the intervelometer to operate after depressing the shutter release when directed that no pictures can or will be taken.
Therefore, when you wish to use the intervelometer, (or Interval Shooting as Pentax calls it), that you need to have the shutter release set to function as it traditionally does.
My K20D body does have the latest 1.04 revision firmware, so I am surprised that this software glitch has apparently never been caught or corrected by now."
I hope others will benefit from what I discovered.
Have a good day!
