There is no need to use a special program or to downgrade firmware in order to enter the debug mode on k10d. It is enough to place a text file MODSET.txt containing only one line of text [OPEN_DEBUG_MENU] in the root of your SD card. Donīt forget to place a line break in the end of this line, or it will not work.

Good article, thanks! Remarks:
1) To make sure you are always focussing at one and the same point it is adviseable to use a special target (focussing chart) instead of rulers. There are tons of such charts downloadable from the internet.
2) I left "AF Area Test" at "0" and everything worked just fine. So the exact meaning of this parameter is still not clear to me.

Pentax k10d v.1.30: successfully fixed backfocus for my FA* 28-70 2.8 AL zoom lens and the FA 100 2.8 macro lens by activating +70 AF-correction in debug mode. BUT ended with my FA 70-200 having severe frontfocus. It is a shame that the k10d-body does not have the option of setting AF-corrections for each lens separately. Is frontfocus a big problem for a long-range zoom like 70-200? I mean that I usually use it for shooting targets at large distances when all objects are in focus from target to infinity. In this case front focussing should not be a problem, or do I see smth. wrong?
