Well.........everything was okay for a few shoots...and then...shutter flutter is happening again. New Pentax batteries purchased from B&H. Was in the middle of stand shoot (about 1 hour) on a full charge and shutter flutter occurred a few times. Camera has also been locking up randomly after capturing an image. (it does write the image to disk though) Have to turn camera on/off to return to use. Just wanted to update, will have to learn to live with the issue.

mlag, thank you for a very insightful response. I am no electrical engineer and would not have considered the batteries. I have 5 batteries, 2x 2010, 2012 & 2x 2014. Past couple of months, I have observed faster power drain during a shoot so I knew there EOL was approaching. Another evident occurrence which i did not mention but you did, was the camera locking up after taking a photo. Again, I had assumed this was an issue with my 1st older K3 starting to have problems because of heavy usage or bad SD cards which were replaced. However, lockups continued on the newer K3. So new batteries on order now as I can't have this problem constantly occurring in the middle of a shoot. When I start using the new batteries will report back on whether that solved the problem, but seems most likely. Thank you again.
Side note: I use the same batteries, under same circumstances with my K1 and never experienced the issue.

I always have a Yongnuo flash trigger mounted on the shoe. Have for years without any problems. If you turn the volume up, you can hear the flutter. Haven't reset the camera, will try that when I have time to reprogram my custom settings.

Using a K3 with 51.000 shutter clicks. I use the composition adjustment daily and recently this problem developed. When I press the green button to set adjustment back to zero, the shutter flutters. (see video)
This started to happen on a previous K3 that has over 250,000 shutter clicks. As it only happened occassionally, I passed it off as this particular K3 coming to the end of it's life.
Because it happens more frequently on the newer K3 I don't know what to think. Turning off the camera stops the flutter, but it can take 2-3 tries to reset where it won't flutter.
If anyone has experience and can tell me what to expect in terms of possible failure, I would appreciate.

All very true. My use would be a walk around point and shoot functionality in a classic body. Could make a great travel camera disguised as an old film camera.

Consider it a good day that your fellow Photographers knew Pentax was a brand of camera. When I am out shooting, many people have never heard of Pentax.

Have you used this Venus 20mm shift lens? I use the composition adjustment all of the time for my Architecture work, but sometimes it's not enough.
