Thanks all, Yes the Moon is photoshop in later from a moon image I took in march. Just messing around, though I like the unreality of it now.

Yes this is a very miss leading vid, as its impossible to get smooth car motion trails like this using the 4K interval movie mode. (slowest shutter speed is 1/30th at 2 second intervals is the lowest setting). This vid must of been shot as stills and edited later.

After more tests and time lapse shooting the camera didn't flop again, but who's to say it won't happen in the future. The problem is how many K3 owners use or care about time lapse shooting, burst shoot or haven't tried it yet. The poll needs to be fine tuned to get any answers and the overall trend.

Yes, I thought so too. I don't why you cant have slower shutter speeds though, Isn't the camera just taking stills and than converting them to movie files or doing the video editing for you?

I was quite interested in the 4K movie interval time lapse capabilities of the K-3, and its ok for daytime subjects. But my latest tests for city night scenes has been a major disappointment, as you can not get nice motion blur subjects, as the slowest settings are 2 second intervals with 1/30th shutter speed.

Is there a way around this, or do we have go back a shoot time lapse normal way with the k-3 ie. still shots?:(

Yes its going back this week, think its a dud. My old K5 iis has never had a problem, also it has out performed it in lots of ways. My k5iis has warmer colours, better auto focus, better battery life and can out perform k3 in lower light?. I don't like the button placement too.

Pentax K-5 Problems with macro extension tubes

I Looked at other threads about this and it seems to be a contact problem. My tubes have no contact pins, so i scraped away some of the paint right around the ring where pins should be.

IT WORKS NOW. Great:)

Hello all,

I have recently up-graded from a K20d to the K-5 and I was wondering why I cannot get a correct exposure using my Vivitar extension tubes, they worked a treat with my K20d and 50mm M 1.7 lens. whats gone wrong?
