Thats exactly my Worries. To spend a lot of money on another camera body only to find its a dog. What are the chances? How good/bad are the 67II compared to the older versions?
Best regards

The repair would be at least half of the price for a used 67II body here in DK

Hi all
As mentioned in my first post I have the older Pentax 6x7 with a dim( in my oppininon) viewfinder. Also as mentioned I have a replacement screen for it but since the camera also needs a new rearcurtain brake Im in two minds. Should I spend my money fixing this old beast or should spend a little more and buy me a 67II? I have seen reports on faulty electronics in the 67II so what Im really asking is whether it will outlast a repaired 6X7 or ....?? offcource sh... can happen and I could get a faulty 67II or my trusty 6X7 could break down for goodbut what are the chances and what do you folks think?
best regards

Hi Guys (and Gals?)
Just stumpled into this forum of which I knew nothing until yesterday when I read a thread on P67 Gas on RFF. Im an APUG'er; RFF'er an a LFPF'er mostly reading and not so much a poster for a long time (children you know :p)
Among others I shoot an old Pentax 6X7 to which I have this love/hate relationship. I love the size of the negs, the image quality and the handling of this big SLR but i hate the very dim viewfinder and the fact that i t might need a repair/replacement og the rear curtain brake anytime soon:( I did get a replacement screen to brighten up the viewfinder but I do¨'t know whether Id have the replacement don or just get a 67II instead. Talking lenses im restricted to a 45/4, 75/4,5 and a 90/2,8 since my 165/2,8 broke into pieces a long time ago :hmm:
Best regards
Søren
