There are basically 3 main issues with the K5 so far.
1 FF issue
2 Stains on the sensor
3 PTTL flash overexposure
# 2 Looks like the stains on the sensors are addressed.
# 3 The flash overexposure is easily compensated by lowering the exposure compensation of the flash.
# 1 Is a real problem when taking photo indoors like restaurants, dances, and other dim lit situations with fast lenses. Once this problem is fixed, I'd say we will have an unmatched camera for the price. Just the sensor capabilities, the improved focus (minus the bug), the enhanced metering, and so many other useful functions make this a great camera.

The understanding that I have (based on discussion in that other long thread) is that the AF has tendency for a very *slight* FF in low light.
So shooting at f4 masks out any inaccuracy in the AF, not that f4 by itself improves the accuracy of the AF. Of course, lenses are generally sharper when stopped, so that is also a factor.
Hope I have made that clear.

I'm still waiting for the K-5 to come out in "Lemon" Yellow. Seriously, once the plethora of faults are resolved via the 3rd or 4th production run, I'm jumping on the bandwagon and buying me one of those suckas. Got me $1,300 stashed away on Paypal, just waiting...waiting...waiting... Nope, I won't be sending it back two or three times like my friends. Nope, just waiting...waiting...waiting. Heck, they can even rename the sucka "The Lemon." Doesn't matter, so long as it works. A fair trade for my $1,300, don't you think?

Good to see someone is on old Rupert's side.....at least a little! I have said what there is to say on SDM, but I do want to make it clear that the DA*50-135 is a Superb lens, and even if it was total MF I would want it. My Nokton 58MM is all manual, and that does not reduce its value for high IQ. Speaking only for its deliverance of top quality at almost any part of its range, the 50-135 is a true winner. This is what is so frustrating....like the K5, it is "almost" perfect.
DA*50-135 yesterday.....
