This guy's looking for the peanuts we bring home from 5 Guys. I've told him more than once that we don't bury them 6 inches deep, but apparently I'm not the trustworthy type.

Great Blue scratching an itch. and the dander that came from it. Guess humans aren't the only creatures that close their eyes when scratching...

A leucistic gray in my daughter's yard in Wichita, KS yesterday (American Thanksgiving). Not exactly shy. Or quiet. :)

The silhouette was taken just before sunrise this morning, the egret pics a couple of weeks ago.

Here's a few from the midwest. Yep, we have seagulls (lakegulls?) in Kansas.

Went to see some raptors at the local county lake a week and a half ago. They had a few on "display", live birds tethered to stands, and I was able to get within 30 feet or so, and get some decent shots. That got me so pumped that i went back the next day, hoping to see a Bald Eagle in the wild, even though I had never seen any at that lake before. Surprise! The first set are the captive birds, then the Baldies I found driving around the lake, along with a couple from another lake the next day. Fourth from last is a juvenile baldy, according to someone who should know, with a non-bird thrown in for good measure...:)

...Joseph, for his (fur) coat of many colors. Never saw him sitting still, usually being chased by another, less colorful brother/sister. Taken at my daughter's place in Wichita, KS.

I have one that came on a tripod, which I replaced with a head I already had. It's not the smoothest, seems like the previous owner tried to lubricate it with graphite, but it's solid and heavy, and the price is right - if you are interested, send me your address and I'll send it to you, on the house. Paying it forward, as has been done for me recently. Besides, it's giving Tuesday. |

Went to a local park last week and got a few keepers using my "lightweight" bag - K70, 18-135 and 55-300 WR lenses, and the 40mm Ltd. (for a little speed). Also a few of the hummingbirds from our deck, with the Sigma 70-200 2.8 II. While I don't normally like high-ISO pics, I do like the feeling it gives the second shot.
