Little pool harboring a trout population in winter. Water is very cold and the fish remain almost motionless at the bottom, waiting for better days. The colder the water, the more it contains dissolved oxygen, so the fish doesn't have to move much to be able to breathe sufficiently. Pentax K3 + HD DA 16-85 mm ED WR @ 35 mm FL. |

Apparently, gallinules are not especially particular about where (and in what) they swim.

Could have called this an abstract, but it seemed just a bit more of nature.
And this is indeed the sort of thing I tend to see in nature, and I'm not sure why.
It is not something usually noticed, but my eye goes right to such cluttered places with the tiniest bit of variation in it.
Critiques and suggestions for what to improve are very welcome.
Angky.

Found these young Raccoon characters in the backyard feeder last night. When I tried to shoo them off, they all bunched up inside the feeder. How many Raccoons fit in a feeder. In this case four.

Other people walked past this Wallaby without noticing her, because they didn't look up! She has a purple tag in her ear - presumably so the rangers at the Sanctuary can easily identify her. She is sitting on her fluffy tail, as Wallabies often do when they are having a snooze. It was nice and warm in the afternoon sun.
