LCD Protection Options?

Hi, I have to disagree with adwb; even though those phone screen cover films are soft (or perhaps "flexible" would be a better expression here), they are totally clear and do not have any impact on the quality of the LDC.
Actually it's hard to tell if the film is in place or not unless you see its edges. Or at least that's the case with the ones I have in use.
For sure there are many different types of such films, so I guess one will see the result only by testing.

LCD Protection Options?

Hi, my quick and dirty (not to mention cheap!) solution:
I bought screen protector films for my Nokia cell phone with touch screen. 10 covers, total price less than 20 euros (something like $15).
I simply cut one of those smaller to fit over K-r's display, it's been there for weeks now and has already had few scratches on behalf of the K-r's display itself.

Very easy to attach, to clean (can be washed with water & soap if needed) and to replace when worn enough.
Being a "soft" film it won't protect the display from heavy hits, but strong enough to avoid any scratches caused by sand, belt, car keys or other loose objects in bag etc.

K-r new firmware ver 1.11

Just upgraded from 1.10 to 1.11 and soon after that (not during the first shots after the upgrade but the next day) I had this issue which I haven't faced before during my six months with K-r:

After shooting, the LCD monitor became black and white and was filled with horizontal stripes...The Instant Replay image was seen behind those stripes, but without any colors. Also the Menu looked like that after the Instant Replay view had disappeared.

I powered off the camera, then turned back on, display was OK but the same thing happened after the next shot.
Then I removed the battery for about 10 seconds (it was fully charged), and after that K-r did it's job as always, no problems any more.
The images were all OK in SDHC card, so luckily the LCD monitor was the only one malfunctioning.

So, I have no idea if that was caused by the new firmware or not.
Any others here with a similar problem after (or before) upgrading to 1.11?

K-r and lenses with stabilizer?

A K-r newbie is wondering here:
Is there anything special using K-r with a lens that has an optical stabilizer in it?
For example Sigma 17-70 mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM.

Will I be able to choose whether the body's or lense's stabilizer is in use, or maybe both of them (doesn't sound reasonable though...)?
Or if I disable the body's SR, will I still be able to utilize the lense's stabilizer and vice versa?
