These were taken with the DA 55-300. And as you can see, I need to learn to crop my photos in PP. It would have been nice to have some feet. :(
I took these shots in the wild. Joe Wheeler State Park in Alabama to be exact. I noticed the "rough" bokeh, but haven't had enough experience with PP to do anything about it.
Thanks. You have some nice shots yourself. I especially like the Chickadee, and Adult female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird.
Thanks, I'll definitely have to work on smoothing out the bokeh.

Peter -- Great heron image indeed. I have all but given up on them in my area. They just spook way too easily here.
Dave -- Nice lamp post shots. I never would have thought of something like that.
Georg -- Love the contrast in the Iron Age shot. It's something that I have been working on improving myself.
Tran -- I love how the red on your UFO stands out against the blue sky.
So here are a couple of shots from my yesterday(Click for larger): |

I use a Hoya R72 IR Filter with the camera's custom white balance to take the shot. Then to get the blue look, I swap the red and blue channels in Paint Shop Pro.

Lots of great photographs all around. I just had to squeeze in some false color IR. Taken Sunday. =-) |

It was alive, but not moving as long as no one touched it. Some of my coworkers were wondering the same thing and touched his back. He didn't fly, but moved a few steps forward. I'm not sure of his ultimate fate. I left it as I found it, and it was gone Saturday morning.

Thanks. Liked your arrangement. =-)
Thanks...this was the first of this kind I have seen, most of the time we see Luna Moths in this area.
lol.....It does now that you mention it.
Indeed, and the texture is interesting as well. They are so fuzzy.
I believe he was about 5 in. (13 cm.) across, from wing tip to wing tip.

Sounds like there are plenty of us Goldfinch seekers around.
But I have to say my favorite of the bunch is the House Finch (male) with the messy mouth. =-)

Yeah...I am quite pleased with the middle one in particular. Had to lay down on the parking lot and even tilt my head to put my left eye to the viewfinder to get that one. I think it was worth it. =-)

Found this guy in the parking lot at work outside our back door .
Click for larger images and exif data used +4 or + 2 diopter on DA 55-300 (no crop, no pp).
Any and all comments and critiques welcome |

She sure is....as soon as the clicking stops, you will find her behind the camera saying "I wanna see."

Thanks for looking.
I don't have lots of photo's up yet, but I'm working on it. I haven't had anyone report problems with navigating the galleries. I will have to look into that.

My new lens came in today, so I had to try out some moon shots tonight.

My first real try at a good infrared photo. Taken as the sun was rising over the buildings behind me. Used Hoya R72, K100D Super(my first DSLR purchased just last week =-)), Kit Lens @18mm. Comments and suggestions welcome. |
