i got KX for christmas too and found this forum really useful. not had an SLR for a long time and I also realised you have to learn all over again.

Just bought my first DSLR. Used compacts for some time now but gone back to SLR. Bought a kx and it seems to be an excellent camara so far. Had trouble getting hold of a remote but got one of e bay for £5.99 which seems a bargain.
