Right you are Dan. That 1% makes us forget about the 99% fast too. At least I know one guy on here that I can trust for sure..... Btw, that lens was an awesome addition. Thanks again

Wow. I never even thought about that. What happened to people just giving you their word on something and sticking to it? Sorry to hear about this happening to you.

You can get a used panasonic g1 for under 200. I just bought one a couple weeks ago brand new for just over 200. We're talking body only here of course. So if video isn't a priority then I would definitely give it a look. 3 inch articulating screen, evf (a lot of the other m4/3 cameras don't have one), and in my opinion a nice looking and well built camera. Then you can get a pk adapter and have a blast.

I dared to be different. And haven't looked back. Very happy with pentax. Couldn't ask for more. Plus storm trooper white, who could resist?

I just got my kx from them 2-3 weeks ago. If like being lied to go for it. First off they call you and email you to "confirm your order".... But that is really an upsell call. With lots of lies, ie; if you don't buy a filter it'll void the manufacturer warranty, pentax warranty is only 30 days, etc. Then like you've heard from other people, once they have your money forget about getting anyone to talk to you. You're old news to them. I'm just glad my camera functions, It would be nightmare trying to return something to them. Order with caution. But I know I'd gladly pay 10% more to get it from amazon or b&h. Plus, they're from jersey. Just saying........

I just had my first child 4 months ago. I always thought photography was more for women. Being that every girl I had ever been with was obsessed with taking pictures and I never understood why. Then It hit me, when my daughter was born. I've taken more pictures in the past 4 months than I have taken in my entire life. And now I'm hooked, my camera goes everywhere with me. So I have to carry a backpack with me everywhere. But at least I won't miss those precious moments. Life is too short and too precious to not make and capture memories. I don't want to miss anything, this is a hobby/passion that I will have for the rest of my life. No doubt.

Thanks, but I have a dedicated HD camcorder here, so video was not a concern. And from what I've seen/heard the 14-45 is the better choice on lenses. But I will admit I looked at the gh1

I'm just going to be using the 14-45 and eventually the 45-200 (both panasonics). I think for me that should cover plenty of stuff as a second camera. This will be the camera that goes with to family functions, etc. The kx is for everything else, fun shots like macro, telephoto, etc. Basically this is my high end point n shoot.

Oh yeah. That's why I jumped on it. 200 bucks new for body, and around 200 new for the lens I want. And I have a brand new camera, a little smaller than my kx, that I won't bring any more lenses or equipment with it, and fast focus in live view, high quality large screen that articulates, so my family can use it too. They won't use the kx. It is slower to focus in live view and the screen isn't nice enough for them. (They refuse to use the view finder).
I guess I should tell you guys what I was looking at before I bought this, I owned an fz35 for a while and liked it so was originally looking at the fz100. And the price of that new is about exactly the same as what I'm paying for this setup. So i'd say I did better this route. I'm a bigger guy and I usually wear hoodies, or big jackets, or big clothes so I don't mind the size of the G1. Just didn't want my dslr bag going everywhere with me. One camera body, one lens, and everyone can use it.

Most high end point n shoot = tiny sensor, slow focus, no optional view finder, minimal manual controls, etc. I though the g1 seemed like a decent camera, but now I'm guessing not...

You know, I was afraid of that. But with this I was just going to buy 1 (all purpose) lens and use that only. So no carrying any extra lenses. Was also considering the fact that the girlfriend won't even look through the viewfinder on my kx, so I know these have nice live view articulating screens. I also looked at the lx3 and lx5. But I like the thought of a bigger sensor just in case. You're supposed to make me feel better about this purchase, not worse. Lol

Who is going to watch this one? I live here in Illinois and it is somewhat of a HUGE deal here. Who you guys rooting for? Or do you even care? Personally, I'm not a bears fan, but the I loathe the packers so I'll be behind the bears on this one.

Ok, so I've been thinking about getting another camera to use as more of a point and shoot. (carry around a kx right now). Basically my priorities were a smaller body, lower price, interchangeable lens, live view, nice screen, basically most of the pluses of a good p&s. So I was browsing around on ebay and found a panasonic g1 body only for $200 brand new. So I just jumped on it. So someone tell me what I just got myself into. Lol. Decent deal? Decent camera? I found the all purpose lens that I want for it for around 200 also so with that I'll be set. Any input on this choice is appreciated. Thanks
