Seems like your focusing screen is off center.

Hello rgknief60, Thanks for the input, wolfworx was right. the TC I purchased is not compatible with my lens. Like I said , I should have known the dashes meant not compatible. I guess i'll just hang on to this TC for now. maybe i'll come across l compatible lens in the hopefully near future. thanks again and have a safe halloween.

Good evening Wolfworx, I think the excitement just bit me in the rear end. I went to the same web page you linked, I saw my lens on the chart, but without reading further and not figuring out the dashes meant not compatible, I just went ahead and bought it. I need to pay more attention next time. But for now, I'll just have to get 2X closer to the subject. hahaha. Thanks for the eye opener.

Hello pearsaab, The mounts are a tight fit. and I just notice that if I push the Function or menu button, the display just comes on for a split second then goes off. I'm thinking it's just a defective copy of the TC. Thanks for the input, lesson learned. :-)

I just got my copy of the TC to go with my Sigma 70-200mm EX DG APO OS lens. I followed the installation instructions to the letter. after turning on the camera, the readouts just went haywire. The aperture and shutter speed were just flashing and changing the values. has anyone encountered this problem with this TC? cameras are the K7 and K10D.

Hello Munch008, i tried to duplicate your settings but instead using my Pentax F 50mm f1.7 ( that would not have made any difference ) the lowest shutter speed I got was 1/60 sec. I'm confused how you got 1/3s. Also, with red eye reduction, the flash fires a pre-flash, before it fires the actual flash and take the picture. you could have moved after the pre-flash went off.. at 1/3s , there's a big chance of blur. and lastly, you could have set your flash exposure compensation to a higher value, that would explain the overexposure.

even saltwater pools have the same chlorine level as the regular pools. dry cleaners will do a spot clean for you . that would be your best bet . good luck.

I assume by pool, you mean swimming pool. swimming pool water has about a minimum chlorine level of 1.2 ppm to 3.0 ppm max. chances are you will have some bleaching on the fabric specially if its not rinsed well. i would get it dry cleaned. it will be a little pricey but you preserve the color.

Hi Ron. thanks for the input. if I remember correctly, the jug was hung past the little patio roof. but that's no excuse. composition matters a lot. all the points you made really makes sense now. I certainly learned a lot today. thanks again and more power to you.

On the top photo, my aim was to isolate the background as much as I could ( Bokeh ) if I pulled back on my zoom and showed more DOF , the background and main subject which is the water jug would be competing for attention. as for the second photo, you're right, the top portion is a little bit busy. I wanted to move the wagon wheel off to the right but visitors are prohibited from touching, let alone moving the display. thanks for the input MADDSNIPER.

I've been trying to improve my photography skills and have friends and family critique my work. so I thought of putting myself on the firing line and see what other Pentaxians think.Attachment 183769 Attachment 183770 |

Thanks for the feedback Tony, I measured the flange or tab ( that controls the aperture )at the back of the lens and it was a bit longer compared to the rest of my lenses, as luck would have it , it was made of plastic. so I just shaved off a bit at a time until it cleared and locked. works like a charm now. Sorry it took so long to reply, thanks again.

I just bought a Sigma 200mm F3.5 lens with a Pentax K mount. Tried to put it on my K10d and it seems that there's something preventing it from turning to lock the lens. I've read that these lens mount is compatible with the K10d. am I doing something wrong?
