It does smell a lot. Probably some caustic voc that will take ten years off of my life?
When I was at the camera store looking at the tripod selection before I bought this amvona tripod, the tripods that were going for 3-4 hundred were comparable to what I have now?
I mean I know it is made in china and a knock-off of some brand name, but these are really nice.
Yes it is heavy, and if and when I put a travel pack together, I will more than likely buy one of the CF tripods just for the weight factor.

So I took a huge risk on fleabay and bought a tripod from a company called Amvona.
There was an auction for a tripod with a "grip" type head, and what looked like pretty sturdy legs.
Well I won the auction at 45.00, and then there was 21.00 in shipping. So all and all, only 66.00.
I kinda expected to get a flimsy, crappy tripod?
Well I was very pleasantly surprised when it came today and I took it out of the box. It is REALLY NICE!
They have other photo products, and now that I know their equipment is pretty nice, I think I am going to order one of the back-pack camera bags.
I noticed that if you buy from their website or store you are going to pay more. But if you have the time and patience, do the auction thing. You will save a lot more money that way.
Cheers!

NO! I am actually filling out the forms tonight to post tomorrow! Thank you though.
m80 I bought this camera and lens for doing mainly inside interiors, and architecture. OH! and most of it will be at night as well.
I did shoot a residence tonight, and so far I am kinda happy with what I have now as far as a "set-up". And as soon as I feel I have some great shots I will share them.
There is still SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH I need to learn about this camera.
GOSH! I have not had a real camera in so long that, I need to re-edjamacate meself.:o
Cheers!

I sucked it up and and bought the DA12-24.
OUCH!
I am glad I bought the camera at a real store here in SD. Actually.......... I got my first real camera there when I was in high school, a Minolta SRT201.
But they took back the camera kit, sold me my K10D body, and gave me the DA 12-24 for 700 dollars (it list at 899.00 from them).
But what a beautiful lens!
I am going to shoot a few lighting shots tonight to get a better feel for it, but thanks for the advice guys!

OK so I just bought my K10D, and the lens that came with it is a great all around lens but not for what I need to do (shooting interiors at night, and focusing on the lighting).
Anyhow................. I need a good wide angle lens, that wont give me a lot of flare whilst shooting the room at night. Any great ideas on a lens that will not kill me in the pocket book, but give me great shots of the room and its lighting?
Thanks!

HI to every one here.
I just bought my Pentax K10D from Nelson Photo a few days ago.
So far it is kinda cool, but I am not liking the factory white balance settings. I need to learn more about the settings so I can adjust a few things.
I bought the camera for shooting pictures in the 400 and up ISO. Like my SN implies I am a lighting designer here, and I want to do shoots of my work (mainly interior shots at glowing lights).
I need to find a few good wide angle lenses, and even a fisheye lens too?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!:D
