I was stunned by the K-5 images post-processed by JohnBee (Thanks very much for the effort). It really seems that Pentax has found the magical noise characteristic recipe.
However, one thing I notice is that the Nikon exposures are often brighter than Pentax exposures. The underexposure of Pentax metering may hide noise.

This camera is aimed at users not already upgraded to the k-7.
I really feel compelled to jump back from Canon! They have finally ironed out all the kinks in the k-7.

Is there a point? Other than Olympus' focus on zooms, it is every bit as good in the lens department.
Perhaps Pentax can produce rugged weathersealed m43 bodies but that is easy to imitate.
And will Olympus let Pentax join m43? They're pretty much two companies in the same position on the market.

The whole kit is in like new/excellent condition. The glass and the body are scratch-free, other than an inconspicuous circular tripod mark on bottom of camera. There are no dust under lens elements, and there're a few specks of dust under the LCD which is nothing to worry about. The camera has ~10k actuations. The 18-55 is the old version that comes with the k100d. The whole kit was bought new end of 2007.

Well if I were you I would pay $100 more for the Amazon 55-300 deal. It's a much better lens than the 50-200.

Honestly when I had my 12-24 I didn't notice much purple fringing. Anyway, you could try picking up a 10-20 Sigma locally used for a great price.

Could anyone tell me if the K-x af in low light is as good as the k-7? Thanks.
Sorry if this has been posted before, but I have no idea why the search function of this forum is so inconvenient. I cannot get any results searching for "K-x," and I have to add "mm" to for example "18-55" to search for a particular lens.
