Here's some of my initial findings regarding the K3iii using various lenses. I've tried the following thus far: DFA 150-450, DFA 70-200, DA 18-135, DA* 16-50 SDM, DA35 f2.4 FA 28-200, Sigma 105mm macro.
All of the DA lenses seem to focus nearly equally well and with nearly a 100% accuracy! In every case I experienced I'd attribute the misses to the photographer. I tested the DA* 16-50 SDM at f2.8 with excellent results.
The Sigma and the FA 28-200 are both screw drive and I found they are not capable of reliably keep up with quickly approaching subjects. The Sigma was maybe 50-60% keepers while the FA 20-200 was mostly unusable for fast action.
My opinion is based on 50 years of experience starting with the K1000 and MX. Digital starting with the KR, K5ii,K5iis, K3ii. I've never used the K1 or K70 and know they each have improvements over my K3ii experience.
I cooked up this photo taken with the K3iii, DA* 16-50, 1/4000 sec., f3.5 at 50mm.

A black version shipped from Adorama today with delivery expected by noon tomorrow! My DFA 150-450 can hardly wait for the mating. I plan on shooting some motocross Saturday and check the autofocus for myself.

It's worked for my K5ii, K3ii, 70-200 and the 150-450. No reason to think to won't work again.

Something no one seems to be discussing is the S.Fn button. It appears the user will be able to select the functions they use most, have it displayed in the bright new viewfinder, select any changes via the joy stick and never take your eye away from the viewfinder. For sports, wildlife, action photography this is a great addition. I can't imagine how many shots I missed while poking around making some kind of change to adapt to conditions.
Also the extreme ISO performance they claim. We all know ultra high ISO is never good but what many are missing is the fact that as the high ISO goes up so does the usable at lower levels. If we end up with usable in the ISO 100,000 or better range I'd call that a win.

The approaching conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter now fit within a single exposure. I managed this last night (12/17/20) from my backyard. K3ii, DFA 150-450mm @ 450mm, 1/200sec, f8, iso800, RAW, cropped, LR.

The DA 10-17mm one of my favorite lenses. I took this photo with the lens touching the sand and less than 1" away. The sharpness always impresses me.

Based on conversations with my local Pentax dealer who attended CES, here is what he told me to expect. Conformation of the 70-200/2.8 and long desired FF camera with a June 2015 scheduled ship date. I would expect to see the FF to be displayed under glass and most likely a prototype. I say all of this with no personal desire for a FF at this time but putting a high degree of confidence in the reliability of my source.
