Nope, no flash. The scene was fairly well lit, though.

I'm afraid I don't have photoshop, but I've done a bit of work on the photo and this is what I've come up with. Any feedback is appreciated.

That second photo is absolutely stunning (as are the other two... but that second one... wow!). Thanks for sharing.

This image was shot with a DA 55-300 on a Tamron 1.4 TC. I think the sharpness is fantastic. I just got a DA*300 and I'll be testing it out with the TC this weekend.

Have you actually tried this on a Mac? I'm looking for a nice extension suite but everyone that I've tried did not integrate nicely with Aperture.

Congratulations! I was introduced to the wonderful world of Pentax about 8 months ago. It's a wonderful one. :)

I tried some of the topaz "plugins" for Aperture. For me, the interface on the mac version was clunky and barely usable.

I use an iPad with a camera connection kit and I love it. It's got a solid state hard drive which means there is very little chance you could lose data.

I actually tried that, but no luck. No matter the order I upload them in, they seem to order the way they are now. Not a big deal. :)

It seems to me that this isn't much like Apple. I believe they will do everything in their power to eventually deliver all updates through one mechanism, the App Store. I think they will fix all these issues and give developers a way to tie old software to new App Store apps.
Apple has a lot riding on this and the last thing they want to do is make things difficult for long time mac users. Only time will tell how they manage the balance.

I'm a bit new to this myself, but I believe there is an extra set of RAW editing capabilities in Aperture under "RAW fine tuning". However, as you said above, the real power of RAW is that when you're editing a photo in Aperture it has more information to work with and so each adjustment you make (even outside of RAW fine tuning) will be more flexible and better tuned.

Great deals! I found the rest of the App Store is rather disappointing, though. :(
I'm sure it will pick up in the months to come.

Here is the histogram. I'm not quite sure what to make of it. It looks to me as though there may be very minimal blown highlights? If anyone has a moment to help me interpret it, I would appreciate it.
Thanks again for all your kind words and feedback.
