Karlito, I have had the K-r for a little more than a year. I had a K100D Super before my K-r and really loved the pictures from that but wanted to be able to make larger prints. Originally, I was not thrilled with the K-r either, but after customizing my settings, I now love it. Play with your settings, try using spot focus and set ISO, don't leave it on auto. Give it a chance- there is a learning curve. Good luck.

The CRC cleaner is safe for plastics. It worked for me for a while. About 2 wks ago it just did not work anymore and the e-dial was really erratic again. Respraying did not help. I am now waiting for the camera to come back from CRIS, they had to replace some parts. For some the spay has remained effective. Other than that, I love the K-r, but I mostly shoot outdoors. Good luck.

Another positive response for the contact cleaner. My e-dial had been fine until last month. I bought my K-r in Feb.
It gradually became worse until this weekend when it was unset-able. I used the contact cleaner today and it now works just fine. Thanks for the info.

Thank you for the advice. I have MANY images with noise at 100%, without any post processing and without pushing the exposure. I purchased the K-r so that I would be able to enlarge the images. If I just wanted 4x6s my K100 would be sufficient. I have a friend who is a pro photographer and they were surprised by the amount of noise. If it's my error-so be it, I will be the first to admit that there is more to learn however this is my 4th digital camera and I have used pp for years. Yes, they were over-sharpened; I was trying to reproduce what I was seeing but not capturing. Thank you all for your feedback.:o

Thanks for all of your replies and constructive criticism. After following your suggestions and further testing I sent the camera for repair. I still had sig. noise using RAW and 200 ISO with an aperture of f8. Hopefully, I will get it back before our April vacation.

I guess my term "noisy" was wrong. It should have been grainy. Here is another totally random shot just to see grain. It was taken at max. quality, no pp except resizing.

Here is an area cropped and enlarged. EXIF data should be there. It's much more noticeable when I working with the images in Photoshop Elements. Thanks.

My K-r is off to C.R.I.S.:( I have had a lot of noise in my images since I got my camera. The quality is set at the highest level and when enlarging to 100% all images were noisy. After messing with the settings and then finally comparing it to my old and trusty K100D Super I'm sending it in. I have attached an image and would appreciate any thoughts. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, while it's there they can address the FF issue.

I'm keeping mine, never considered returning it. I, like others just use manual focus.

I have had my K-r for a month. I have noticed some FF issues in low light like others have; however most of my pictures are taken outdoors in natural light. I have not noticed ANY FF problems in these situations no matter what lens I use.
Whether or not you will have any problems will depend on how you use it. I could not afford the K-5 either. I LOVE my K-r, FF and all and I have no regrets buying it.:)

I was able to get an aftermarket battery 1050mah on e-bay for $9.99 and free shipping. It works great and holds a charge just fine. Look around, they are out there.:)

I have used Beach Camera several times and I have always been satisfied. I bought my K-r with the 18-55mm lens from them a month ago for $670 and free shipping. I received it in 4 days without any problems.

All of my old K1000 lenses fit and work just fine. I haven't had any problems with them getting stuck. I love using my Vivitar 135mm again.

IMHO people need to chill a bit about the focusing issue. These are not point and shoot cameras. I would always tweak the focus on my K100DS and I now do it on my K-r. Sometimes it's right on, others are not. Most of us consider ourselves photographers and not just button pushers. I LOVE my K-r and highly recommend it.

This sunset was just begging to be photographed. The image has not been retouched except for resizing.
