You don't need adapter to mount nikon lens to pentax body! It fits almost perfectly :). The working distance of nikon is higher than pentax so you just need to mount the lens. All the lenses will work as MF lenses and the ones with aperture ring will be more usefull, the others will need something to stuck the aperture at wide open and that's how you will use it. I have Nikkor 35 1.8 and micro nikkor 55 2.8 and used them on K200 and K30.

Wide open - this lens is rubbish! Closed down to 2.2 and more - nice usable AF lens for pentax body.

Compare them in corners, there is the difference you seek :) In the enter both are sharp. Did you shoot in RAW and are all the files with the same WB settings?
PS from today:
Looks like the M 28 3.5 is the best 28mm for F8.0-11 usage. DA 16-45 is sharper, much more sharper but the corners are awfully aberated.

a little samples of my ex M85 :) I really loved this lens but the samyang 85 1.4 is better in most conditions and because I needed wide fast prime... so I've sold the M85. I hope that FA35 and Samyang 85 will make me forget the M85 :).

Not good enough for my taste but at least better than DA35 :). If one day I freak out and sell everything with pentax label and buy nikon this lens will be the one who made me!

For bokeh panoramas there is no better lens than samyang 85 1.4! For other jobs the 77 1.8 is nice lens :).
Just not to be offtopic some bokeh:
CZJ Flektogon 35 2.4 MC, somebody must create CZJ club in the lens club section :)

In my opinion - the FA501.4 is better closed down to F2.0, the new one is a little better wide open. Both will do the job if you are not pixel peeper, if you are - go for second hand FA501.4, it is the better lens I think. And you must buy a good hood too! In low light the better choice is M 50 1.7, it is sharper than DA501.8 and FA501.4 with better contrast and almost none CAs and if this is not enough to convince you - try using the FA501.4 in real low light conditions - the AF is awful even with K-r.
A good companion to the FA501.4/DA501.8 will be one MF 50 1.7 for example M 50 1.7 or something exotic like Zenitar-M or Auto Chinon they are opticaly better than the FA50 and DA50 wide open and being MF lenses are good for macro job.
Zenitar-М 50 1.7 + extension tubes - isn't it great, it has such soft OOF render and no CAs with sharp details in focus. 100% sure that M 50 1.7 or FA 50 1.4 can't do that, the 50 1.4 has CAs.
