This camera is my wife's favourite because of the unique feature of the swiveling LCD monitor (it's a lot better for her eyes which are almost as old as mine) but the camera has recently started playing up.
For some reason the Flash button has stopped working and although the flash itself is still functioning it is locked on to Red Eye Reduction. There's no way to change this now.
Far more significantly is the fact that the Menu button has also quit working and she is unable to get into this function at all.
I'm inclined to doubt that these problems are "user fixable" because being unable to gain access to the menu means that the camera can't even be reset to the default settings. Most likely this is a repair job which is likely to cost way more than the camera is worth.
If anybody has any ideas or suggestions they would be appreciated. I would also be interested in finding out if any other Pentax model has this same LCD monitor feature... I can't find one.
