I got another solution for the contacts on mine DA 18-135mm.
I used a soldering iron to heat up the contacts a little, so it would flush more in the plastic tab, so it won't get stuck or grapple anything. But you do have to be very carefull to not mess it all up. If you get it, the result would be pretty seamless.
I do not have it anymore, because I sold it to change brands, but chnaged lenses a lot and get zero issues.

This has happened befor with other DA and D-FA lenses.
Check if the two contacts of SDM power are bent or broken. If a DA/D-FA lens don't identifies those contacs, the camera won't fire.

Lucky shoot: You have two or more lens? The issue happens with every one? This might be aperture problem with the lens or in the camera mechanism. Might need lubrication.
Best thing to do is take it to some technical suport

Hi. I don't have the K1, but had the K3, wich also have dual card slot.
If the image is being recorded in the whichever card are in the camera, then it's all fine. Since you said that using two card, all works, then the anwser are as follow
Both cameras can work with either one or two card at any moment. If the camera is set up to write at both slots (for Raw+jpg, Backup ou sequencial), it will display "No card in the camera" if there is just one card, because it'll try to write at the slot that's missing a card, just for you to know the camera are writing at just one card.

Sorry to get this off topic, but I have that same Sigma and want to know how it performed with the K3 mkIII.
I know about the issues when used with K1 and Kp. I plan to buy the K3 mkIII, but I live in Brazil, and can't service the Sigma here anymore. Also, given nowadays currencies exchange rates, the mkIII is veeery expensive to me.
Now, I have the K3, and sometimes it freezes with the Sigma. But I just have to take it off and put it back, and gets fine. If that's the only issue I will have, other than the liveview being very erraticaly with the Sigma, then I might try to get one K3 mkIII, when prices get better
Thanks

My opinion too. It's such a lazy design. Very underengineered.
It happened with two of my lenses. DA*16-50 and DA18-135. For the 16-50, the two contacts broke althogether, but I did converti it to screwdrive and it works fine that way.
The 18-135 I used an soldering iron to heat it and sunk the contacts a little bit more inside the plastic base to see if this helps avoid the contacts to hook in whatever that bends it. You have to be very carefull to not melt the whole thing, and do a little finishing, but seems to work. So far, the lens is holding well, as I change lenses a lot. But do it carefully with this lens anyway.

Thanks for the response. Yours behave exactly as mine, though my copy is lens id '8 255'. And I also can't have it serviced here.
If that is the only problem, then I fine with it. But I'm really worried that it is more to the K1 incompatibility.

Hello guys,
I currently own a K3 and a Sigma 70-200 HSM Macro II.
So, for those of you that already bought a mkIII, and have that Sigma, there are any compatibility issue? I can't reliably use live view with my K3 + Sigma. PDAF works mostly fine, although sometimes it hunts to much at long end.
If that lens have the same or worst kind of problems with the K3mkIII that it had with K1 or KP, then I'll have to either buy one pentax lens or consider some other options that I'm not to keen of.
Thanks

I'm very excited about that lens. Hope they release it soon.
Also, considering the testimony in thew presentation, that new DA*16-50 seems a very high performance lens in every professional aspect. The new PLM AF appears to be really fast and acurate. And the optical redesign looks like it'll deliver some gorgeous pics.

I don't believe they will share the same sensor. Only the resolution is the about the same. But I'm too believe processor will carries most of the weight of the performance in the new flaghship camera. Plus the Accelerator Unit, it should deliver the most top performance of all Pentax cameras to date. At least, that's what I expect ---------- Post added 02-07-21 at 12:19 PM ----------
I meant their general features and performance.
Of course, being a mirrorless vs DSLR, the only differences are the viefinder, but in terms of market, I believe they will dispute the same market/customer.
The K-3 mk III and X-T4 have about the same size, and similar lenses. Both have IBIS, and probably the same perfomance and image quality. They also have the same black/silver options .

Hope it's closer to $1400 than $2000.
$ 1700 would be ideal. The same price as fuji X-t4, which I believe is the closest competitor.

South America, specally Brazil is one place the Pentax Brand abandoned over the years.
I wouldn't bother to work as an embassador for Ricoh, if they wanted to return here

Make it two. My biggest hopes is the price below $2k. Ideally on the $1600-1800 range. And please, do a combo with the new DA*16-50. That will sell!

To bad. I really like distance scale windows. I think it's a ratter cool and usefull feature.
But I'll definatelly won't mind if the performance is top notch, as manual focus is not that important to me ---------- Post added 12-07-20 at 05:07 PM ----------
I'm with you. 82mm is a ratter large filter for a standard zoom lens

Regarding autofocus, I think the only lenses that would take full advantage of the AF capabilities of mkIII is the new DA*16-50 and the 55-300 PLM.
All those modern D-FA should do fine, but they are not as fast as those PLM driven lenses.
DC lenses should be also OK.
Screwdrive lenses will be what they already are with current cameras.

Just thinking:
Isn't there another rumor floatting around that said ricoh is planning a video centric DSLR camera?
What if the rumors was caught wrong, and started as a 'film centric camera"? Or a film SLR, but people just assumed it was obviously about a video DSLR?

I don't think is the case.
My bet is it'll still have dual SD card. But really hope for at least one UHS-II

Well, I'll assume the EV button you're refering is the +/- button besides ISO button.
It does work in manual, but not on exposure, but on metering.
Holding it and turn the rear dial will affect the zeroing of your metering and the base exposure for the green button press.
Of course, if you set exposure manually, pressing it and changing settings won't make the camera change exposure, but your metering will change.
If you think about it, that's how the camera sees the scene when you set a compensation. Then it will set exposure accordingly, just as you would manually.
It all comes down to how you like to photograph.
By the way, this works on K5 series too.
