I go through this all the time when I am at home. I most like to capture people in natural settings unposed trying to get a glipse of who they are or even a story in the photo. That is hard when I don't have that many people in my life to work with.
Now when I get to Italy, something happens and I am much more inspired. Not saying you should go to Italy (well maybe you should). But maybe you need to remember what you like to photograph.
Finnally I am gear driven photographer. Sometimes I grab a camera I haven't used in awhile just to play with it.
Anyway good luck on your journey.
Oh one last thing. I have many hobbies and tend to cycle through them. When my interest is in one, the others go by the wayside.

Back in 2013 I picked up my 1st K01 as the prices dropped and I figured the lens was worth the price of the camera. Fell in love with the camera used it on my trips to Italy in 2013 and 2014. I was looking at my pics those trips, and they were all taken with the K01 and da40xs. Now I did not know as much about photography back then but I am amazed by how good they look to me. Here are some samples, all most likely edited in Lightroom. |

Thanks. All those pics were adjusted and denoised in lightroom. Had a bit of an issue with the setup and everything was shot at 1600!! But those files clean up nicely!
I have 3 cameras and 6 lenses with me. K1ii, K-3ii and the D200. It was a tossup between the d200 and the k10d but been liking the images on the d200 lately.

thanks mike. I shoot mainly in Aperture mode, which is what the pics were set at. I did fine Exposure comp set to on and turned it off. Still wants to shoot at the highest ISO, not the lowest. I did reset the custom bank but that hasn't helped as well. Next I will try the complete reset. The camera design is old and Nikon so I am always a bit unsure of what the options do and I have 2 manuals on it. Very different than Pentax. But something about the camera and images that I enjoy using it. Here is the same pic after denoise and Auto updates in lightroom. Figured it out!!! I was setting Bank C but shooting on Bank A! And they are in totally different places. Thanks all.

Can't answer your question but the advantage of the k10 is in that ccd sensor. Wait until you see the photos and then decide which you want to use.

Pentax K01. Was the camera I took on my return trip to Italy after being away many years. I love its brick like feel and enjoy shooting with it. I still have that one but it has a shutter issue so I bought a replacement.

I'd go for it. Silver is rare, lens is good and the K5 has great image quality. I wouldn't worry too much about the battery. Pentax batteries are easily available and the internal battery is rechargeable. I bought a NOS K2000 which only takes AA batteries, none installed, and the internal was fine.

Well I will chime. The back buttons on my cameras are all over the place and yes I do get confused when I switch. Annoying for the first few shots and then I remember. I don't find any more convient than the other. However when I first went to the K-3 from the K-5iis I hated the placement of the AF button, having gotten very used to the K-5 but I soon realized it was more convient.
Oh and I wish on the GRiiix I could switch the playback button with the fn button. I keep hitting playback instead of focus. Now that I think of it why the heck did they set it up that way to begin with. The FN button should be closer to the top no matter what you use it for. And no you can't reprogram it.

Thanks! Yes I was surprised by the results myself. I shot raw and jpg but needed to adjust the raw as the SOOC jpgs were a little over saturated and I had to up the shadows on some of the pics. The lens focusing is very very good. And quiet compared to my screw drive lenes. Not that I would trade them for the world! IMGP0156 SOOC by Jim Miglino, on Flickr

HI all
Just got my Ricoh GRiiix a week ago and have still been learning the camera. Shot this one today at a way to high ISO with the new negative film. I shot at 50mm crop 'cause I forgot I had set it to that. Anyway it reminds me of old film. Not very exciting but there is something about it that I like. Croped to 1:1 and lightly edited in lightroom
