If any Indian Pentax users are interested, I have two items on sale in Marketplace. If you are ready to buy, there are two more of mine in Market place which are right now in USA with my brother. I can get them back to India.

Though I did not put my Pentacon to good use, I am posting few pics, as a forum member has asked for them. All are incamera jpeg images, just resized in Fastone Image Viewer with absolutely no processing, not even sharpening. You may find better samples on the web which show the true potential of the lens |

Don't know if this question is allowed. Why was not K-7 provided with "uncrippled KAF2 mount"? That would have been great for a camera of that calibre. We could have avoided that extra step of pressing the green button (for stopped down metering).

Unless its autofocus speed is appreciably fast with good predictive focus; Image quality is much better I feel it is not great or long step forward over already good K20D. IMHO.
The small light by the side of the grip, could it be white balance thing rather than focus assist, as it has been mentioned that there are focus assist leds on pop up flash.
Any chance of Hyperfocal mode?

Hin,
What is your opinion regarding purple fringe? My Tamron 1.4x seems to be free from it, but when I use Pentax 1.7x or Tamron 2.0x, it seems to be very prominent.

Thank you all for the kind words. All the images were taken with Vivitar 105mm macro with available light in most cases and on board Fill flash in some. All handheld. Taken in Raw. Loss of the detail in some of the shots is possibly the result of downsizing as the facets in the Dragonfly pictures are clearly visible in the original photographs. I have redone them again. Please comment. |

Nice colors and contrast from this lens.
I own Vivitar 105mm macro and absolutely love it. Only downsides being heavy and lack of autofocus (not for macro work where I prefer manual focus, but when shooting portraits with it). Pentax with its small size and being autofocus is tempting me once in a while. Any comments from any one who used both and compared the results?
