I have succeeded in saving dng out of the pentax utility and opening in photoshop 4 with camera raw and getting the image quality I need

have succeeded in saving images out of pentax utility as dmg and using camera raw in photoshop cs4 to do some work that satisfies me

And this time found the save as DNG but it didn't apply the crop
AHHHHH
I have become so used to intuitive software I am finding the pentax Utility frustrating because of my lack of understanding.
Can I apply the crop AND save the image as a DNG?

Tried saving it as - but can no longer make it a DNG file

Okay, used the standard sizes to get near enough to what I need.
thank you.
Now how do I apply the crop?
Do I just save it now?

Having hard job cropping images in Pentax DC Utility V4.30 on a mac.
I can move the cropping box and get left hand top to be in the right place
And
I can get the right length of the cropping box
but
getting it to be the right width - duh - I can not. Must be a simple answer
hope you can assist

Colleagues,
I would like to use the raw format rather than jpeg. I am documenting paintings and prefer to work in TIFF for reproduction reasons.
When I shoot RAW i lose the white balance info and low light compensation etc in the image on screen. The manual says the info is available, how do I access the info that was created in camera and used to generate the jpeg but is not visible immediately in the RAW image?
