I think I'm going to get both. I to have read rave reviews about the 50mm which sounds like a good starting point.

cont...and I only have the 18-55mm as I didn't go the twin kit given I had the above lenses.
I think I'll try and buy these additional lenses 2nd hand, then I wont be investing as much. Or Amazon sell them for a lot less than can be purchased in AUS.

Thanks for the info about cokin...next question which will show how green I am to the whole photography thing:) With the cokin attachment on, I assume you can't have the lense hood on at the same time....what impact if any does this have?

I've got two old lenses from my Mz-50 28-80mm & 100-300mm which still take good pictures but obvioulsy not as sharp as the new digital lenses.

Is the cokin set up a better way to go than say individual Hoya filters? In the process in investing in a number of filters for each of my 5 lenses which will obvioulsy be quite costly?

Just starting to get serious about this hobby and want to know what would be the most logical lense to invest in first......Pentax 50mm 1.4 or Sigma 10-20mm?
I like taking landscape pic's having grown up on a farm but would like to do more portrait also especially in shearing sheds.
