If you enjoy anger, go ahead I guess, but this lens pricing mistake doesn't seem to me like it's worth getting upset over. Really, you're going to sell your Pentax gear now and buy a Canon?

Mine should be here soon. Just waiting for the UPS truck to roll up. I don't have to watch for them - the dogs will let me know.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
ZX-5 (CLA'd and repaired) with FA 28-70 f4 AL Asking Price
$100 USD Item Location
Colorado (United States) Item Description
The camera and lens are both in excellent condition and are working fine.
This camera has had a recent CLA and had the mirror motor and flash spring repaired. Both of these are common problems with the ZX/MZ line of cameras. If you get one that hasn't had the mirror motor replaced, it is probably just a matter of time until the plastic gear on it breaks. The replacement mirror motor has a metal gear, so should last a long time.
The FA 28-70 lens with the constant f4 max aperture was an ugprade over the kit lens of the time and is well thought of.
I am the original and only owner of the camera. I bought it new in 1997. My original FA 28-70 lens broke and I bought this one from someone else here on the Pentax forum.
Includes original manual; front, rear, and body caps; and the original Pentax ZX-5 strap.
$100 plus $15 for shipping and PP fees. Willing to ship to US (Priority Mail) or Canada (First Class) for that price. Will consider shipping elsewhere, but it will cost more. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

Pentax K200D body, like new, with box/accessories Asking Price
$265 USD Item Location
Fort Collins, CO (United States) Item Description
K200D body, like new, with box and everything it came with (CD, manual, cables, strap).
I am the original owner. This camera has had very little use and is in great condition. I just haven't been using it, and need funds for something else, so I am selling it. I don't know the exact shutter count, but I expect it is less than 1,000. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

For my K200D, I paid $10.something for expedited shipping. It would have been $6.something for normal shipping.
My camera shipped the same day I ordered it and was at my house the next day, although I am only about 125 miles away from them.
I thought the shipping charge was reasonable.
I purchased from them through Amazon. I don't know if they have different shipping rates on Amazon than on their own web site.

Thanks for the warning. I don't know if I would have bought from them if I had seen this first. However, so far, my experience has been great.

I recently received an e-mail from TechForLess with a link to their web site that will give you a 10% discount on anything they sell. They have the following Pentax bodies available - K10D, K110D, K200D, K2000. I don't know how their prices compare with anyone else.
The e-mail says I can forward it to friends and family, so if anyone wants the 10% discount, PM me an e-mail address and I will forward it to you. The discount is only good until Mar 23.
I am not affiliated with TechForLess in any way and won't receive any benefit from anyone buying something.
I recently bought a K200D from them. It was billed as being a new, open box item. The camera did appear to be new and had a shutter count of about 440. It was complete with all the accessories. The box was a little rough, but that was the only way this did not appear to be a perfect, brand new item.
I bought my K200D before receiving the coupon, so I didn't get the 10% off. I purchased it from them through Amazon to avoid the sales tax, since I live in the same state as TechForLess (Colorado). The discount requires buying direct from their web site, so if I had done that, I would have lost most of the discount to taxes anyway.

I'm not an absolute authority on this, but I think all the MZ/ZX cameras have the potential of the plastic gear on the mirror motor breaking except for the MZ-S. If someone knows differently, please correct me.
However, if you get the mirror motor replaced, the new one should have a metal gear and then the problem is unlikely to occur again. It is an expensive fix, though.
I just had my ZX-5 (MZ-5) repaired, fixing the mirror motor, the popup flash spring, and a CLA. It cost $140. I don't think I could sell it for that. I'm the original owner of this camera, it is in great shape otherwise, and I really like the control layout on the ZX-5, it's size and shape, etc, so I'm happy it's working again. It should last me a good while now.
I haven't gone digital yet, although I'm thinking about it.

I'd take a picture of my Dad fishing. He died before I had a camera. He took me fishing a lot.

Welcome, Lance! I also started in 1971 with a Spotmatic.
I have a daughter who worked two summers on Orcas Island, and I got to visit here both years. What a beautiful place! You are fortunate to live around there.

Welcome, Thomas! Congrats on the new K-5. I'm thinking about getting one, but don't have the funds yet.
I've got a daughter in graduate school at UT-Austin (architecture). I've never been to Austin, but I hope I get to go visit her sometime.
