I saw these on Amazon and really thought (and am still thinking) about ordering one.
However I began to think more about it and had some concerns:
Type 00 Rei - Too many versions / variants. Only shoots in monochrome since it is more poetic and introspective. Too attached to original owners.
Type 01 Shinji - Basically useless as every 15 minutes it makes a whining noise and refuses to use a camera bag. Embarrassing shot performance around implied nude subjects.
Type 02 Asuka - Bat Sh$$ Loco. One moment first class performance the next it seems to cry for its momma and head for a bath unable to do anything right.
But dear god but a Spike Spiegel or Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop would be pass from my cart to checkout so fast my credit card might melt. Although there may be QC issues with the Spike model one as after tons of great shots it suddenly dies on you,
A Belldandy or Urd edition would be purchased in so short a time even a Tardis might have trouble keeping up.
Not that I know anything about the subject of 'anime' of which you speak. :)

Just a quick snap with the Q7 and 01 prime.
But the quality you get from the Q7 with even just a quick snap is one of the reasons I will never part with mine. smokey in not amused-1 by Robert Williams, on Flickr

Personally I have not noticed that much of a difference between the Q, Q7 or Q10 in good lighting conditions.
The Q7 may have a slight edge when it comes to lower light situations.
Regardless of the technical merits, or lack thereof, one reason I love my Q (as well as my Q10 and Q7) is that I always have with me and can capture unplanned shots like these

and the detail that I get with shots like these

Hi.
Actually I had to add very little sharpening (I shoot raw only so some sharpening is always added).
Mostly I adjusted the microcontrast to make the wings and eyes appear more detailed and added vignetting to make the dragonfly stand out.
Also I used a flash as they were strongly backlit so I warmed up the white balance a bit (personal taste the AWB was accurate).
I could have probably shot jpegs and the in-camera sharpening would have been more than I added in post.
I have found the K30 with the 18-135mm sharp enough on its own. Previously I would have needed to add my Raynox 150 to a prime to get this type of image.

one thing that will help you enjoy the camera the most is to never read another review of it once you decide you like it.
Otherwise you may find yourself second guessing as the reviewer finds any flaw, real or imagined.
Just try it with an open mind and expect a little learning curve as with a)l high tech devices.
l love my k30 and am not looking back.
