Item for Sale
M42 Mamiya/Sekor 50mm F2 - includes K adapter to infinity

Asking Price
50 shipped

Item Location
Illinois (United States)

Item Description
For sale is a Pentax M42 MAMIYA/SEKOR 50MM F/2 prime lens with automatic diaphragm on/off toggle (for applicable bodies) This lens has great bokeh and sharp optics even when wide open! This comes with a M42 to K mount adapter that supports focus to infinity. This lens will operate in manual focus/aperture only for K mount cameras with the adapter.

Optical condition: 9.9/10 - Has 1 speck of dust that shows at F/16, F/11 it is barely visible at pixel level, wider than F/11 it is invisible
Mechanical: 10/10 - Has a firm yet smooth focus which I personally love. Taps on the lens do not ruin shallow focus precision up close.
Cosmetically: 9.5/10 - One slight ding in the chrome, the rest of the lens is pristine.

Comes with a metal rear thread protecting cap and standard plastic front center-pinch lens cap. M42 to K adapter and front cap are not shown in the photos.

I have one, and I find it very useful and flexible. No extending zoom and a genuinely good 1:3 reproduction ratio with a constant F4.5.

It is a good budget lens for sure if you're up for MF.

Item for Sale
SMC-Pentax FA 28-105mm F4-5.6 - Rare high quality lens!

Asking Price
$180 total shipped

Item Location
Chicago, IL (United States)

Item Description
For sale is a hard to find great quality per dollar SMC-Pentax FA 28-105mm F4-5.6 lens. Its hard to find for good reasons! I've moved on to Canon full frame, and I have decided to let go of my first SLR love, the Pentax K10D, and the lenses I accumulated. This is by far my favorite Pentax lens that I've ever used. I got very lucky since it was included with my camera in absolute mint condition used just 2 or 3 times by the previous owner. It's small but built like a tank weighing 19 ounces with smooth but sturdy mechanics, has a great flexible zoom range, excellent corner to corner sharpness, clarity, contrast, color reproduction, and low distortion; an overall excellent IQ! Bokeh is the one thing not so good with this lens, but this is absolutely perfect for anything that needs to be sharp and detailed.

One possibly negative thing about this specific lens is that the clear plastic barrier that used to cover the focal length indicator has popped off and was lost in the field. Not sure which field, but in a field! lol. It has been covered with a carefully measured piece of thick tape to prevent dirt/dust from entering the lens at that point. It is shown in the photo and has worked just fine for over a year just as the thicker plastic cover did. It even seals it better in regards to liquid.

I also only voted on about 7 that really spoke 'spring' to me. The rest are just really nice photographs some that don't even look at all like spring

Hi whenever I try to submit a battery review the only category I can select is the grips.. I can't get it to go into the right section. There are 2 reviews for the Maha Imedion AA battery that need to be deleted here:

https://www.pentaxforums.com/accessoryreviews/category-Grips-Third-party.html

Please return the option to add batteries in the battery section.

Thanks!

Ever need to take just 1 or 2 pictures to use, but hate having to remove the memory card, find your adapter, plug it into the computer, and search through all the files just to find those pictures? Are you traveling with a notebook computer and don't want to carry a router with you? Would you prefer to print photos while still taking them? Would you like a shooting solution that allows for shooting thousands and thousands of photos without ever having to take the card out of your camera? If you answer any of these questions with a "Yes!," the Eye-fi 8GB Pro X2 SD memory card is a versatile answer for you! The time savings would benefit the everyday user and the professional photographer alike! With the capability of connecting to your computer directly without a wireless router, this card is perfect for real time transfers to a nearby computer, especially a netbook while on the job. Whether shooting a wedding, photos of inventory for internet auctions, or just taking pictures of your pet, you can have your photos uploaded in real time so that you use your computer's hard drive as a memory card, and as soon as you get to your computer your photos are ready to view, edit, and use! This card can upload JPEG, RAW, and video files so that no matter what mode your camera is in, you can keep shooting and uploading at the same time. How cool would a real-time slide show during events and weddings be? The creative solutions and time cutting steps you can take with this card are fantastic.

Here's 4 reviews although I know it's supposed to be 3, these are all great items for all photographers with any brand equipment:

This place simplifies technical comparison very well, and by the way, the k-x has better ISO scores in lab tests:

Compare the Pentax K-r vs Pentax K-x

However they fail to mention the lack of the focusing dots :(

How can I know what my focus point is? I just ordered one cause I got it for a good price :D

A steadicam-type system would be able to help with that kind of bulk :)

The reason the MKII looks like mush is because the 24-105 is complete garbage. The corners are HORRID while only the spot center is sharp. I got rid of mine after 3 recalibrations under warranty for $850 while I could. It just sucked. It was even worse than the 24-80MM plastic kit lens I had. Canon customer service was superb and did all they could but the lens itself just wasn't good enough.

Use a 50mm F1.4 or 70-200L on it and you'll wonder why the hell you ever put up with the 24-105.

I know this thread is dated but I bet someone would be interested in a truthful photo taken with a Canon 5D Mark II + 70-200 F4/L:

Full size image straight from camera RAW set at JPEG 10 quality (about 6MB)

And in post with a simple .02 pixel unsharp mask set to %500, everything becomes even better

However, I still would rather use a Pentax full frame if it existed over the MKII any day :) don't get me wrong

Well I basically joined this forum to shop for great vintage Pentax lenses! My Canon full frame broke down and I am using my backup Pentax DSLR.

Got a 50mm SMC Takumar F1.4 lens? I want it!
