the 43 is my primary lens. I use it for about 75-80% of all my shots (partly because I have nothing shorter, and partly because it's the most practical of my lenses - the DA 70 has too long FL to be a comfortable all rounder)
And to avoid off-topic complaints - below two shots with the DA* 50-135 :)

I guess a couple of things:
1) Speed - the DA 70 doesn't go to 1.4
2) Build quality - my DA 70 suffers from quite a bit of wobble
3) Usability - the DA stays in the bag most of the time, as the 50-135 is quite capable of producing satisfying result in this focal range and still has the added bonus of zoom versatility
4) An excuse to part ways with the FA 43 and get an FA 31 :)
Although parting with the DA 70 would be a loss. It gave me my most favourite photo: Hanusia_2011_I-XII_345_21-08.jpg by maciek_winnicki, on Flickr

Thank you for the comments about the DA 55's bokeh performance. What would be your advice if I was considering to sell my DA 70 to partially finance a purchase of the DA 55?

I thought the exact same thing: bokeh is a bit uneasy and just might draw attention away from the core subject. Judging by other photos here, I believe this is not typical bokeh rendition by the DA*55, is it.

Wow! Did you "manufacture" the cluds to this shape? Amazing arrangement :)

Love the first one!
Though some more contrasty blacks could help (no?).

The Holocaust memorial. A very intense place - almost 2 hectares of regularly placed concrete blocks with no ornaments. Just the paths. It was a very sunny, very bright day, so I played a bit to give the shots something special.
Thank youf for feedback!

V5. The one thing (except the bridge) I love about these night shots is the faint streak of lights left by planes happening to just pass on by as you take your photos :)

One more shot from my recent holiday in Italy. This was a pleasantly lit part of the beach in Terracina. The FA even manages to produce some star bursts, though I do acknowledge they're a far cry from what the DA 15 Ltd can perform.
The shot was taken semi-hand-held (the camera was propped on a stone, but I held it in my hands all the time).

The shot below corresponds to my mood lately. Scraps of light in an otherwise foggy picture (I just hate making those job-change decisions).
This was taken during one of my first outings with the DA 70 Ltd, at the dawn of spring this year. Just reminds me, what's coming very soon during autumn and winter...
[DA 70 Ltd; 1/160 s; f/18; ISO 200]
Cheers! :)

Just wanted to share two random bird shots I took during a recent visit to a zoo.
First up is a swan. It was a magnificent, huge bird strolling slowly behind a low fence, so I could get a good look at it.
[DA* 50-135; 1/200 s; f/ 3.5; ISO 1000]
The other is a bird I do not know. It was small, and did not give me much chance to get a good shot.

Thank you for the feedback! I too like the shots of this little FIAT 500. Referring to your bokeh comment: it is typical for my copy of the FA43 lens. Should/ could I do something about it, you think?

Awwww.. these pictures are so good.
Below, a couple of my humble tries with the FA 43. As you'd rightly guess, both shots taken in Italy :)
Firstly a marvel of simplicity
FA43, f/2.0, 1/200 s, ISO 200, handheld
And something contrasting: new, sophisticated and complex

Spent two weeks in Italy. Saw 4 people using Pentax gear (else than me). These included: a K-r, a K-100, a K-10 and a... K645D. The last one was used by a lady taking pictures inside the St. Peter's Chapel in Vatican City.
Not much more, I'm afraid.

One cannot help but fall in dismay at one's own humble attempts, when looking at most of the awesome images in this thread. Really guys, you push the bar so high up, that I started wondering if at all it makes sense for me to buy the damned lens altogether.

a sample from my FA43. Still learning how to master sharpness, though I believe this isn't too bad for wide open...

Two samples from my DA*50-135. Can't believe the shots came out so sharp...

A shot taken today with the DA 70 (ISO 100; wide open @2.4; 1/160; with external flash)
A fine image to me. I only wish I sat at a bit different angle, so that my daughter's shilouette would have fully hidden the flash shadow.

Mine wobbles as well. Got to learn to live with it. As long as it's not affecting image quality or AF speed/ accuracy, I don't fret.
