Hi everyone,
I have a Pentax MX where the trigger lock (the small twist collar around the trigger) doesn't seem to work properly.
The trouble is that after pressing the trigger and engaging the lock again, it is not really locked, the trigger still can be pressed down (and the camera will fire). Also of course it's bad because this can drain the light meter battery if the camera is packaged up and the trigger happens to be pressed by something for a longer time..
I can get the lock to engage again by flicking the film transport lever into "light metering" position, pressing the trigger lightly a few times etc...
I suppose some spring beneath the trigger button (that pushes it upwards) has become tired or loose? But I'd like some opinions first on how hard this is to fix and how to approach this best before actually doing something... The camera is in very nice condition and works flawlessly otherwise so I'd try not to mess it up by jumping to a repair to early.. I have good micro-mechanical skills but not familiar with the MXes so far... Any suggestions and pointers on how to approach this repair are very much welcome.

ugh... this sounds troublesome...
unfortunately I'm not using APS-C but good old-fashioned 35mm analog.. not sure as how bad this bug will affect image quality... probably not worth the hassle?

I've attached a picture of the front part, front ring (with the lens data printed into it) removed. Seems like type B.
Do you have any information on how I can twist this off? I have read elsewhere that (for another lens, Takumar 135) the right way to do is to set focus to "close", extend the hood, grab the lens between hood and focus ring and screw if off counter clock wise. This does not seem to work here, though. Any ideas?
Thanks, berferd

Hi everybody!
This is my first post here - nice to see there is an active Pentax community.
I'm having trouble with a 135/3.5 lens... it seems some tiny buy (more like a flea) has climbed inside and decided to die on the inside of the front lens. Probably won't influence image quality too much, but it still bothers me.
I have some trouble disassembling the lens... I've succeeded in screwing off the front ring with the printed type numbers etc, but I have no idea on how to proceed. There are no "three screws" visible as described for other lenses etc... Anyone ever disassmbled the front part of this lens?
Thanks...
