Item Description
Hello,

I bought this lens off of a friendly fellow on ebay who was getting out of his Pentax gear. I promptly returned my K-5 after receiving this lens due to stains and FF issue, I've moved on to rangerfinder/film for now. The lens is perfect in every way, like new, all original packing. It's a real beauty.

Beautiful, thanks for the help guys. Oh and that shot was heavily cropped, it didn't look bad until I was checking focus for the bird aka 100%.

I've never noticed this with my other set ups, is this pretty common to most lenses?

Hey guys, just picked up the K-5 and the 77mm limited, I was expecting magic...I have to say this is some SERIOUS fringing. What can be done about this?

I'm actually trying to be objective here now that I've calmed down a bit, scanning my files looks like my D300s had the same problems in low indoor lighting. That's a relief actually, I don't want to go back to Nikon, the form factor of this Pentax kit is just perfect.

Well I'm actually scanning back through my D300s files and I"m seeing the same issue, lots of pictures in low lamp light indoors where it totally missed the focus. I'm glad I checked before running back to Nikon. I really hope Pentax can improve the front focus issue however.

Return policy = full refund.

Before I got my own K5 and experienced the front focus issues I just assumed these people were being too picky. I no longer feel that way.

This is very troubling, along with the autofocus problems I'm having I just don't understand what Pentax is thinking trying to market these cameras. This is awful.

I wouldn't buy it. I just received mine two days ago and the autofocus is beyond disappointing. I want to love this camera more than anyone, I'm a traveller and backpacker who got tired of the Nikon bulk I owned. I'm afraid the camera has to go back, along with the limited primes I bought for it. This camera has an obvious design flaw, I don't know how anyone can accept this for 1400+ bucks.

Well I've had the K-5 for two days now, I regret to say I am very disappointed. I really want to love this camera, dimensionally it's perfect, it's feature set is more than I'll ever need....however the autofocus is just awful. One problem is I'm coming from the D300s and took the focus system for granted as I can see now.

I know no camera is perfect, but as someone who makes their living as an engineer, I believe this camera has a design flaw and I don't know why anyone would invest this kind of money such an obviously flawed product.

I really don't want to go back to the bulk of the Nikon system, but this just won't do what I need. Totally bummed about it.

I was thinking about the silver K-5 but the idea of paying more for lenses and body just doesn't seem worth the momentary aesthetic pleasure I'd get from it.

My dad used to shoot pentax, I got rid of my Nikon gear because it was too big, bulky, and heavy for the kind of travelling/backpacking I like do to. Looking forward to picking up a K-5 and a few limited primes!
