Great photos! Also in CT, snow seems to have stopped but the wind is really whipping, had to go re-clear a part of the driveway due to drifting.

I took advantage of this program and have been enjoying my new K3iii. I think it was highly worth it, loving the new camera!
I’m actually dumping all of the Sony mirrorless gear that I bought a couple of years ago and focusing back on Pentax. I only kept a couple of my lenses and my K3 when I made that system switch, gave away and sold everything else. Regretting the hell out of that now as I’m rebuilding my lens collection lol, at least I’m getting some of that cash back as my Sony gear sells on eBay.
Anyway it’s all great fun, people on this site seem to forget how awesome Pentax gear is sometimes. My advice is quit bitching and start shooting more.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Sony A7RII Body w/ Box & Accessories Asking Price
1,200.00 USD OBO Item Location
Portland, CT (United States) Item Description
I am selling my Sony A7Rii (yes, I realize this is PentaxForums lol). This camera is nearly new (purchased 7/2/2019), and I very quickly realized that its 42 Megapixel sensor was completely overkill for my needs and for my hard drive! Selling to fund an A7III purchase. I will provide the original invoice from B&H to the buyer in case you need it for warranty work or resale.
The camera is in perfect shape and has fewer than 700 clicks on it. It takes fantastic photos even with low-end E-Mount glass, and I'll include a couple of snaps for your review. The DR and high-ISO capabilities are insane for me, coming from a K3. Included with the purchase of this camera are the following:
1 Sony A7RII body with all accessories (body cap, strap, hotshoe cover, etc.)
1 tempered glass screen protector, installed on camera on day 1 of ownership
3 Sony NP-FW50 batteries
2 Sony NP-FW50 wall chargers
1 Vivitar dual battery USB charger (for charging from a power brick on the road)
1 A7RII box w/ all related manuals
1 unopened Ruggard camera bag
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns, or if you'd like close-up/macro photos of a particular spot on the camera.
Thanks!

I returned 2 copies of this lens a few years back because of this issue. Both were optically perfect otherwise.
When I got a third copy that did the same thing, I assumed it was just normal. The image quality was so good that I didn't bother to return it this time and have been using ever since. It's my favorite walk-around lens and I love it, I even sold my 16-50 DA*.
It's definitely off-putting when the image shifts, but hasn't effected focusing or IQ so I just got used to the quirk.

Yes, because the Canon and Nikon bodies are rarely weather-sealed with metal frames in the same price range that the Pentaxes are. You'd be spending far more to get tbe same specs and WR. Additionally, good luck finding WR or AW lenses for those same brands at all. Especially rare for less than a few thousand dollars. You can find many WR Pentax lenses for less than 500-600.
Fuji, Sony, and Olympus are mirrorless, we aren't talking about them so it's not relevant to this conversation.

Don't post stupid things and nobody will make fun of you. If you have nothing to add perhaps you should start shopping for that D4 you think you can get for the cost of a K1.
I'd rather have the K1 anyway given my investment in glass and preference for a small weather-sealed body. Plus I love the brand.

Does anyone actually plug their camera into a USB port anymore to download photos? I pull the SD card every time and used to do the same with CF cards. I'm talking 10 years of this behavior. I feel like people bitching about this need to get a grip, the camera is phenomenal and aggressively priced, but you're complaining about a f*$&ing USB port?
This kind of crap is what keeps me away from these forums. Take your camera and go shoot.

Wibbly,
Would you be willing to email me those eeprom files in a .zip? I'd love to try a few out on my old 16-50. I would host it on my web server for others here to download as well. I'll PM you regarding this with my email address.
Thanks!

The IT nerd in me got the best of me. As a test I backed up my lensROM and flashed a random copy from the database. I can't tell any difference in focus calibration at 16, 35, or 50mm regardless of the F-stop still requires the exact same +9/+10. The behavior seems identical. I may switch it back or just leave it this way for now, as it doesn't seem to make a bit of difference. I'd love to talk to a Pentax tech about how these things are calibrated at the factory service centers, how the programming is performed, etc.
I live close to Precision, I should figure out what bar those guys go to after work

For what it's worth, I've used Precision Camera multiple times and they've done great work. The receptionist wasn't super friendly, but whatever. They're also 5 minutes from my house, so it was very convenient for me. Despite that bias, the quality of work was truly excellent.

I agree. I'd put it on a tripod, SR off, and manually set the shutter speed and ISO. You'll get significantly better results. I've shot them handheld as a test, but in bright daylight so the shutter speed was fast.

Thanks jatrax, at least I know I'm not the only one who sees this type of behavior.
FWIW I must say, I've really liked using this K-50. I'm a bit of a snob and have always owned "prosumer" DSLRs, but now I wonder if I haven't wasted a bit of $$$ over the years

Maybe someone can shed some light on this for me. On my K3, I need varying levels of adjustment for all of my lenses. I use a SpyderLensCal to calibrate. +5 on my 18-135, +2 on my 35 Limited, 0 on my 55-300, -2 on my 50 1.4, and +10 (!!) on my 16-50. My K7 requires very similar levels of adjustment. Until recently, I just accepted this as sample variation with the lens manufacturing process. My dilemma is that I recently discovered that each of these lenses miraculously works perfectly without ANY AF adjustment on my mother's K50. How is this even possible? Does this indicate a problem with my K3 and K7? Or with her K50? Is it voodoo?
I just don't get it. I understand sample variation between bodies, but I would expect a similar spread between the lenses regardless of the body. i.e. how can my 55-300 and 16-50 have an 8-10 point spread between each other on my other bodies but neither requires any adjustment on the K50?
Any insight you can share would be tremendously helpful.
Thanks!
