Taken with the K-S2. Also, in my other shots (not this one), I observed the foliage is better handled by the K-S2 compared when I used the lens with the K-30 and K-x. I used to hate using the Sigma lens when taking photos that have foliage. Careful Where You Stand by Chester Castillo, on Flickr

Love the composition and the HDR looks very natural! ---------- Post added 08-18-15 at 03:08 PM ---------- The very few times that I'm able to take night photos. Taken a day before the blue moon last July. Blood Red Monoliths by Chester Castillo, on Flickr |

These kids along with 4 other kids were playing with this agile brown "monster" which they call "Puppy". They would run on the paved roads and on top of the concrete barriers lining the lakeside to escape from Puppy's fury. Else, if Puppy catches them they would get a playful bite on the leg from this "menacing" pup. Three of the kids had the smarts to take refuge on the nearby boat where Puppy has no idea how to get into. In Peril of "Puppy's" Fury by Chester Castillo, on Flickr

Adam, don't mind Mistral75's comment, I'm sure he won't win the lens anyway. I think, the PF site is very generous, specially coming from the point of view of someone who lives outside of the US like me. And even if the give-away is just an IR remote control for our Pentax DSLR, I'd even be grateful as these are something you won't accidentally pick-up on the road on a random Saturday photo outing. Here's to more give-aways! :)

Nice to see this thread still oozing with beautiful photos! I haven't been shooting lately, but here is a photo from almost 4 weeks ago. This one is at 18mm, I usually shoot at the wide end. :) An Impressionist's Puddle of Water by drivingback, on Flickr

Thank you adinfinitum, jva59 & disco_owner! That shot at the beach I guess is one of the prime example why we as photographers keep coming back to the same place over and over again. As syncguy said there is always something different in photography. In the case of that scene, the tide could be different, the cloud formation, the light varies & the elements you see on the beach. And even if it does not change, we can only blame our imagination for "boring" or limiting us. That's why I love photography because it teaches us patience and perseverance. :)

Please don't include me in "us" as well. I am never bored with Ken's photos.
Not all photographers are gifted with the caliber of Ken's artistry. Not even I could say I am that good or will ever be that good. So, I always enjoy his photos in this thread. Keep up the great work Ken!
So in conclusion, I hope nanhi gets bored as well with this shot I had last week. :p

Tamia, disco_owner, Thank you for the kind words! That photo of the crab was really special and I've written my thoughts about it in my flickr account. :)

I went for another shoot yesterday at Punggol beach. There were a lot of people shooting that late afternoon and I met a nice Singaporean guy who was shooting a 7D. The sun hid behind the clouds after a few minutes and the light was no longer as good as this one. Psalm 103:12 by drivingback, on Flickr

One of my shots today, didn't sharpen it after resizing as the details of the buildings were getting some artifacts. I just cropped a part of the left side.:)

Thanks Steve! I think though that I left the highlight and shadow correction on. But hey I had only taken a few shots for the 1 week that I have the camera. So what I said is not definitive. Will test more on the weekend and try to report back my experience. :)

Thanks for the link to the tool! I was trying it first by uploading at Flickr but it is not showing the shutter count for the K-30. When I used the tool here at PF, my first photo shows a shutter count of 2. I've been robbed of the first shot on my new K-30! :D

What do you people think of this photo? I was just walking at Sentosa when I saw this beautiful light coming from this passage then this father and son suddenly came to the scene. I'm not sure if I wanted to put this as part of my Flickr stream as I am quite bothered that I didn't got the whole shadow of the father particularly cutting the head part. Are you bothered that the head of the shadow was cut off?
Yes, this is taken with my Sigma 10-20. It has rarely been unmounted ever since I got it in February. :) |

And here is the shot I took with the setup. Got some splashes of water on my K-x and the Sigma (including my pants, shoes & socks), thankfully the camera and lens are still working! I need to upgrade to the K30! And Pentax should release a WR Ultra wide to complement it! :) 20/52: Recurrence and Emergence by drivingback, on Flickr
