Thank you to everyone for your input.
Didn't mean this to turn into a discussion about labeling when and where, or whether you're an idiot for wanting to pick a photo in the field or while viewing it on a tiny screen. Personally I love the screen on my K3.
The photographer I mentioned marks his photos when he sees a shot he really likes. The example he was telling me about was when he was shooting the NCAA finals for the newspaper he works for. His work is damn good and he manages to feed his family as a photographer so whatever he's doing must be working.
I don't delete anything. After 3 years and over 100,000 images on my K5, hopefully my error rate has improved.
I'm currently shooting a K3. It's everything I'd hoped my K5 would be.
All I want to do is have a button I can hit to say-"Check this one out, it might be good" when I'm editing my photos later.
It doesn't look like there's an efficient way to do this though.

Is there a way to select the photos you like best in camera?
So when you download them to your computer you can easily go to the ones you liked best.
I talked to a professional photographer who I think shoots Canon that told me he was able to pick the photos he liked best so when it came to editing he didn't have to go through 100's or 1000's of photos to find the ones he liked the best.

Greetings Newbie!
I recently joined this group as well.
I'm currently looking for a new K5 w/a 5 year warranty to come back into the Pentax fold.
I used Pentax film cameras starting with the K1000. Wore out 2 ME Supers. I have several beautiful lenses I'm dying to use again.
Hope you have fun with your new Pentaxs and post some pictures from your side of the globe.
