Wow, guys! I guess as soon as I get caught up on all the work I haven't done since I was in Central America for seven weeks, I need to get the LX CLA'd and let you know. I did love the camera. If I can get by without rolling 36 exposures through it after I get it back to see that it works. . . .

What kind of price would be fair? I have the original finder, Sport Finder, extra cross hair focusing screed, even the luxurious purple velvet Pentax camera body bag that came with it! The 400 T flash and bracket, that i have no idea as to whether it words.
The leatherette backing is curling up where the glue has failed at the end that opens. All this just to give an idea of the camera. External wear is light.
I am welcoming any aides, comments, suggestions. Thanks.

I recently excavated my closet and "found" again my old LX system. Of course, the mirror sticks, but boy, it felt good in my hands again.
My question is this? Is there any real interest in the LX any more? Do you think it's worth having it serviced repaired to sell? I will never shoot film again, and I don't want to go to any trouble with it if there is no interest anymore.
I used the camera while I was in the Army and we lived in Panama and New Jersey. Loved it, but eventually went to a point and shoot as the family grew and it was increasingly difficult to carry kid stuff and camera stuff. Now I shoot a K-3.
Give me some feedback if you think it's worth repairing, or if you think I should put it on the Marketplace as is. We are trying to downsize some, and I guess I need to start somewhere. Thanks for the feedback.

I lowered the price on an item I have posted, and tried to "bump" the posting as well. (I have seen "bumps" before, and assume that it is a way of using a post to move the ad toward the top of the que for quicker visibility). However, the ad remained in its relative position among other ads. Is there something I don't understand yet? Thanks.;)

Superb PENTAX K-5 and D-BG4 Battery Grip Asking Price
625 USD Item Location
Pigeon Forge, TN (United States) Item Description
I am selling an immaculate Pentax K5 and Pentax D-BG4 battery grip with ALL original boxes. Everything that came originally with the camera and grip is included:
--Battery
--AC charger
--USB cable
--Manuals
--Software
--Strap
In mid- October the camera shutter had just over 5,800 exposures.
This equipment has been carefully used by our non-profit organization to document programs. The D-B4 Battery Grip includes the additional AA battery insert, providing an extra ready-to-go back-up power source in your kit bag
All items are, to this user, flawless. We have replaced the K-5 with a new K-3. The refined video capabilities of the K-3 will allow us to go abroad and leave separate video equipment at home in the studio, thus reducing our load requirements for air travel overseas.
We would consider selling the Pentax D-BG4 separately. If so, there will be an additional $9.00 charge for shipping the grip only.
PLEASE NOTE: Shipping for the combination camera and grip is included in the listed price. We are accepting only credit or debit card payment. The credit card transaction will show our organization's name.

Please send me a private message if interested in the item! ---------- Post added 11-10-13 at 10:45 AM ---------- Fellow Forum Members: if you thought this ad looks suspiciously like another ad that has been removed, you are RIGHT! I want to let you know that new ads are not "marketing," I just couldn't figure out how to simply change the photos for the ad. Now that I am back from Costa Rica--and the new K-3 was awaiting my arrival, yesterday I got some good images that better convey the condition of the equipment.
I would be willing to work with you on purchase of either individual pieces or the combination of camera and grip. Please get hold of me if you have any questions. Again, note that we are only accepting credit/debit card purchases. The debit card will process as a credit card transaction, and your receipt will show our organizations name. For security (yours), I will not receive your card numbers over the internet since we will not have a secure connection. It would be a telephonic transaction.
Thanks for looking. ---------- Post added 11-10-13 at 11:05 AM ---------- FELLOW FORUM MEMBERS: If you think this ad looks suspiciously like a previous one that was withdrawn, you are right! I couldn't figure out how to change photos, so I withdrew the original ad and posted again (and yes, I would welcome any leads on dummy-proof threads that break down how-to's for inexperienced forum users).;)
I am now back from my six weeks in Costa Rica and am freezing since I am no longer in the tropics. The new K-3 was awaiting my arrival, so yesterday I took photos of the K-5 and grip that are so much more effective than smart phone shots at showing the terrific condition of the camera body and grip.
Just a reminder, I am accepting only credit/debit cards, which will show our organization's name on your receipt. For your protection, I will not accept credit card numbers via email or PM since we would not have a secure connection. We will do it telephonically. So let men know if you have any questions, and I will do my best to answer them. Thanks for looking, and happy shooting. ---------- Post added 11-11-13 at 09:56 AM ---------- Price reduction, and bump!:D

I just had an inquiry about shipping my Marketplace advertised equipment to Canada.
Does anyone know with certainty if there are customs or duty fees imposed on the recipient of a camera shipped into Canada from the U.S.?
Thanks.

The shoot on the dark drape was improvised. The drape is the curtain that hangs on the window immediately behind daughter's bed. I pulled the lower end over the pillows and upper part of the bed and it worked splendidly. I used the AFZ 540 flash as a wireless slave on its included round "foot," bouncing it off of the wall a few feet to the left, triggering it with the built in flash on the K-5. I dialed down the intensity to either -1 or -1.5.
Truthfully, I amazed myself! It feels good when one of my "creative ideas" actually worked.

If you didn't know, Saturday evening will host a "Super Moon" -- a perigee moon that will be the biggest on the horizon since 1983 (only 221k miles away). The full moon will rise in the east at sunset and should be spectacular. I was thinking about setting up across the valley from my mountain home and trying to shoot with a 500mm 6.3 Bower (Samyang) mirror lens on my K-5. Anyone have any experience and tips for preparing for this shot as the super-moon crests the horizon?

Love the lighting -- soft tones from upper left through the hair. Then the light blue makes a wonderful earth-toned spectrum revolving around the eyes. Great!

Hey thanks for the suggestion on the crop. Would you go thirds on the rest,or just change the proportions without regard to constraining it?

Our granddaughter came over to visit just before nap time. The two year old was so placid. In one photo, I asked her to take the pacie out of her mouth so I could take a picture. Out it came, snap went the camera, back in went the pacie. Lots of fun, but the results with the new K-5 were stunning. I did some modest PP in Aperture. The one shot with the 10-17 begged some experimentation, so I masked her, removed the background, and put a sky background in -- all my first time doing this with PS Elements 9, which I really have not used before. I welcome comments and suggestions. But I am fascinated by the discernible difference from my K-7, with which I was very pleased. Each step up, from the K-10 to K-7 to the K-5 has been significant. Can it really keep getting that much better?

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Pentax K-7 (Body Only) Asking Price
$630 (USD) (Price Reduced $10) Item Location
Smoky Mountains, Tennessee Item Description
This well-loved Pentax K-7 is offered for sale because of upgrade to K-5. The camera has been used by a non-profit to document program activity. FREE 4GB SD card included along with original packaging and all items (battery, charger, strap, CD, manuals) shipped when new. As you know, the camera is very rugged. In super shape other than a slight cosmetic finish mark on bottom where body was mounted on tripod (see photo). Original box has a cut-out used for proof-of-purchase rebate (see photo). Sorry, but Pentax extended warranties CANNOT transfer from original owner. Camera was acquired September 9, 2009, and has been used just over a year. I have no shutter count. I called Matt at Pentax Imaging and asked how I could determine that. He said there was no way as an end user to determine it, so any number I might come up with would be a pure guess. Our ministry can accept (and would prefer) VISA/Mastercard for the transaction. We will absorb shipping costs using FEDEX Ground in CONUS. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?
