Mmmmhhh!!
Well let me put my two cents on that one. It will take a miracle for me to buy another Pentax lens...why?? OK
1 The 16-50 is complete doo doo. Just check the list of issues in this forum...well i have them.
2 The 50-135 died on me 7 months after purchase. Reason...one of the small plastic gears inside broke and they had to change the entire autofocus motor. Result, i lost the lens for 4 months.
3 The 200 f2.8 is soooooooo sllllloooooooowwwww basically cant work with it.
I have the 50-500 sigma lens....WOW works like a charm
another sigma is the 120-400 2.8. This lens is expensve but beats the crap out of every lens i use on the Canon.
So yes Pentax could have issues with their lenses...i know i have.

I only want to know how fast it focus....
Does it focus at the same speed the K20 does?
Can it follow a high speed object and still take pictures or does it loose it like the K20?
If its fast...perfect. Thats my next buy

Funny that a few months ago when i said i was going to buy a Canon to create a killer duo with Pentax....most of the members on this board told me i was a moron!!!!
So yes camera snobery is everywhere and mostly in here.
And yes i did buy a Canon 50d with a 70-200 2.8 IS lens and yes i still shoot with my Pentax K20 and yes its a KILLER duo. Pentax for the portraits and Canon for the fast sport action.

Glad you are not a Pentax rep, or the company would have gone bankrupt in matter of weeks.
Next time READ the complete thread
I will NOT get rid of my Pentax, but seriously thinking of buying the Canon and keep both as a killer duo like i wrote two days ago. What one camera cant give me the other one will
Is it now clear??

First i dont need a new job. Photography is a hobby.
My boss are my clients. Currently they are quite happy with what they see.
But i will go a bit further in the future and using and i am being looked down because of my choice of using Pentax. For those who doubt that i am a sport photographer...did you check my website?? The answer is there.
The 50d with its higher frame per second burst could give me a lot more action pictures than the 3fps currently given by my K10 and K20 duo.
If Pentax doesnt release a body that can do this...what can i do??
And for those who still doubt i got another example today. 2 amateurs with Canons showed up at the races today. Both of them had 40d's with "white" pro lens on. Both of them got asked to take pics of the race while me with my Pentax had to show my card to get in.....because "i didnt look pro with my equpment"....:hmm:
I have all the DA* lenses.....a k20 and a K10... How more "pro" can you get....Do i have to paint my lens white??
Do you see my point now or am i going to be trashed again??

I am at cross roads here.
To be taken seriously in the field i take pics i will have to make a move to Canon or Nikon.
Sorry to say but for the contract givers, wathever the quality of picture i present, using a Pentax is an issue.
The Canon 50d looks great on paper. Will it be good on the field??
So what i see in my future is this. Canon 50d body to "impress" my boss and get those sports pics he wants....K20 to take the pictures that really needs sharp details that the 50D wont be able to give me.
That could make a killer duo

Comparing the K10 with the 5D is stupid.
The 5D is full frame and 4 times the price.
If you want to compare noise on both, take a Canon in the same range of price.
The K10 is a midrange....no more
5D is a semipro....Pentax dont have semi pros , wathever people say here. Even the K20 is a midrange camera, a few steps under semipro.
But it makes darn good pictures:lol:

Will it actually shoot?
I checked on my K20 and sometimes i will have that end limit too but only on a non Pentax lens!! But the pics are OK

If you want a great lens for low cost...
Tamron 70-300mm
I simply love that lens. Gave me a lot of great pictures.
Sadly with the DA* lens i dont use it that much anymore but its on my second unit (the K10) and its a great learning tool for the young photographer i train.
By the way....my avatar is done with that lens by one of my trainee...

I had the same issues with a bad 8gb card.
I used Active File recovery...and pluged the camera directly as the card reader.
The software succesfully recovered all my pictures in about 20 minutes and also "repaired" the card. It actually removed the bad sectors from the card so now its a 6GB:mad:
Serve me well to buy cheap cards on Ebay:lol:

OK the Pentax 110 is now a museum piece.
If you can find one like mine then you should put it behind a glass wall.
I can still find 110 film around, its not so hard to find but next year?? the year after??
But the quality of the pics for a 110 camera is amazing.

Nope.......and you are going to go raving mad....:p
Montreal
I dont want to make you drull even more but we have a "flea market" ( dont know if i spelt that one correctly ) twice a year.
They call it a flea market...i call it a treasure chest.
I saw a brand new LX with a 200 f2.8 mounted...brand new. Price tag 500.00 OH MY GOD!!!! Bought it on the spot
I cried my eyes out all the way home...tears of joy.
So every 6 months i go there....my last catch was a Pentax110 with all the lenses for 125.00...in its original leather case!!!!
I own a little Pentax Museum at home
