Looks like you are safe since it was made after January 2021, which is when they started using a different solenoid.

I wasn't quite sure if I should put this here or in the K-30 forum...
I am working on getting some wider angle primes. I recently bought a Vivitar 28mm 2.8 Auto VMC lens. (I cannot find it in the datebase but the serial # is 99xxxxxx series so I have determined that it is a Cosina lens. This is the lens).
I tried this on my 2 K-30's. I set the Using Aperature to Enable and E-Dial Programming --> M --> green button to TV Shift on both.
K-30 #1: Never gives me the Input Focal Length option when I turn the camera on. Just goes to the "normal" screen.
K-30 #2: I can input the focal length but when I press the green button, it always does a 1/1000 shutter speed, no matter what I point it at and whatever I adjust it to before that. I did figure out that it will give me the correct shutter speed if I do it in Live Mode. It should do this without going to LV, correct?
Any idea what is up with this? I've done some searching but have not found anything helpful.

Does anyone know of something that will work on a Chromebook for basic video editing time lapse and stop motion? I am trying to get my son going on this and am looking for something that you can import jpg's, have them a frame or two, in length, and then place them all on a timeline that you can export out as a video. The apps that I have seen will not batch import still images for a short default length, or will only do time lapse with the built-in webcam.

The Associated Press (AP) was one of the first news organizations to get their photojournalists digital cameras. Other photogs called the AP people apes. The AP photographers would always look at their screens after they shot a picture with their new digital cameras, so the other photographers (who were still shooting film) coined the term chimping, since mainly the AP people were doing it.

That's a shame. I have bought a bunch of stuff from the over the year, bit. I stopped buying big ticket items from them since they stopped carrying Pentax DSLR items a while ago.

I sometimes use a polarizing filter to get bluer skies or get rid of reflections in the water.
I also sometimes use a gradient filter for capturing things like sunsets where there is a large difference in the brightness from one side of the image to the other.

I just got my K30 a few weeks ago and love it. As for the date, did you press the right arrow?
You didn't mention anything about why the mayo bottle is in the pic.....wait.....I don't think that we want to know! :o

My bikes are blue, along with my work car. My old pick-up was even blue. I got a black K-30 because I did not like the way the black lenses look on the blue body.
(Oh, my current pick-up truck is black. ;) )

Nice write-up, but my K30 is a lot quieter than my K100.

Thanks for the info and tips. I do switch between handheld and a tripod a lot, so I might use the 2 second timer.

I just bought a K30, but I plan on still using my K100. It will not get the use that it used to, but it also will not just sit in the closet!

I recently moved from a K100 to a K30. On the K100, there is a Shaker Reduction switch by the lens and the manual said to turn it off if tha camera is mounted on a tripod. You have to go in the menu on the K30 to turn the SR on and off and it does not say anything about turning it off when on a tripod, just some other situations.
So, should I turn the SR off when I have it mounted on a tripod? If so, why did they remove the switch?

I ordered a black one this weekend. UPS says it should be here tomorrow!
My first film camera that I owned (I used my dad's Canon SLR until then) was a P30t, and now I'll have a K-30.

I use the disposable Lithium CR-V3's in my K100D. I get about 1,000 shots out of a pair and over half of them are with the flash or on Bulb setting. This lasts me almost a year. For me, I think this is better than buying rechargeable batteries. Also, the K100D book says not to use rechargeable CR-V3's.
