Though red is exciting, it would be too harsh in the long run.
This blue is boring, so

I vote for green

I am looking for a black or white colored Pentax k-x body,
preferably with shutter count below 20k.
If it is with the 18-55, OK (though I don't need it)

Price to be around 300-350 USD.

Thanks... :)

Hi!

I just want to report that I purchased a K 85/1.8 lens for portraiture...
Yes, manual, but I believe it will do nice... (it was not that "budget", I admit, ca. 250 USD)

Thanks for all tips, though, I will take care of lighting...

Concerning lights...

Naturally it is most important :)

As we are VERY low on budget, my wife has to find a way about lights.

This now means to find place where natural light comes
in a way that can be used at a certain timeframe of the day...
in room with window, in gardens with good beckground, etc...

We have book about use of light,
but I will look for more sources of knowledge :)

Thanks for the posts, folks!

Just to make it clear:
what my wife has (for a k-m body) is the kit lens DA-L 50-200.
Is that on par with the standard DA 50-200?

Thanks for the tip about investing in lighting...
We already have a Metz 32 Z2 flash.

The F 35-135 sounds interesting, thanks. But:
I read that it is really good at f5.6 at wide end and at f8 at telephoto end.

How does that compare to the abilities of others, like the 55-300?
Perhaps that is better at 4-5.6...?

Hello,

My wife loves taking portraits and is real good at it with the kit 50-200 lens.

I would like to get her something better, though.
I can spend ca. 200-250 USD for this. Maybe less spending would be better...

What can fit as long as:
- zoom
- autofocus
- for portraiture

Could it be the DA-L 55-300?
or
FA 28-105?
FA 70-200?
FA 100-300 f4.7-5.8?

Help me to choose or find a better one :)
thanks...
