I just go by eye. No colour charts, profiling or specialist software. Works for me

Sorry guys-- photo accidentally deleted in Flickr - now reinstated here
We don't expect Spring in February but here in the UK it has been glorious weather for two weeks now - warm by day and sunny. I took this photo in my garden this afternoon. It's the first time I've tried my SMC M 50 f/1.7 on the K-70 and I love it. Hope you do too.

I too bought a K-70 body from SRS on the run up to Xmas. The K-70 was preceded by a K-30 and before that a K100D. I have to say the K-70 is a worthy successor to the K-30. How many people do I know locally with Pentax equipment? only 2! it used to be 3 but one has now defected to Nikon. In my travels both in the UK and elsewhere I have seldom met anyone else with a Pentax camera. More commonly the vast majority favour Nikon/Canon. Why??

Thanks Uncle Vanya
I've had that lens along time and it's always performed well but on the K-70 it's gone up a notch or two in terms of resolution. Focus is faster too.

I have the K-70 + a Sony RX100. It's the mark 1 model still available new here in the UK at approx 1/5th of the cost of the mark 6. The RX100 is capable of capturing good images on occasion, almost, indistinguishable from a DSLR.
Previously I've owned two P & S cameras from the Panasonic TZ range which were also good albeit fitted with a 1 2/3 sensor

First image taken recently with new K-70 and the DA 50-200
I photographed this landscape from the roof of a multi storey car park in Bury St Edmunds, UK. The white office block is about 200 metres away, the church spire 400 metre and the sugar beet factory chimney approx 800 metres away.

A few months ago I let my K-30 +18-135WR go they had served me well. Just before Christmas I bought a new K-70 body (only £395 in the UK) and have been trying it out with my old DA50-200.
I've had the DA 50-200 since I bought my first DSLR, a Pentax K100D followed by a K-30 and now the K-70. It has always given good results despite it's budget tag and it's still working great on the K-70 too.
I'm tempted to get a 18-55WR as I'm not a fan of the 18-135 which had on the K-30 and I'm not willing to buy the expensive 16-85. Anyone using the 18-55 still? and what reasonable price alternatives are there. I'm looking for a sharp lens on a budget I suppose.

Gents,
I'm glad my photography has given you pleasure and brought back some memories. I've had the DA50-200 since I bought my first Pentax DSLR, a K100D and although it' soften underrated I always got on well with it. You'll probably have noticed I had to use high ISO to get the fast shutter speeds needed (the weather was cold and dull at times) for action photos.
I too am very happy with the results and thank you for your feedback.
Graham

Thanks Eaglem.
It's been very cold and wintry here for a while and too cold to hold a camera at times. I choose to take a trip out locally on a warmer and bright day to capture this image.

Eaglem thanks for your comment.
There's a story attached to this. The view is across open fields about 700 metres from my home. I hadn't noticed the sky until it was almost dusk so grabbed my camera and ran to the spot. I soon realised in my haste that I had no card in the camera, doh, so I ran home again to get it before it was too late. The light of course had changed and this was the best photo I took. I'm happy with it and glad you appreciated it too.
