K-30, SMC Takumar 55mm f1.8, Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta 2017 Light up the Night by David Dawson, on Flickr
I haven't been using this lens as much as I should, but it's nice to take it out for a walk here and again. At the fiesta it made a nice lightweight compliment to my Sigma 10-20 for longer shots and turned out to be about all I needed for reach.

K85 f2.2 at f2.2 on my K30. softyellowflower by David Dawson, on Flickr
stopped down to f5.6 I think sharpyellowflower by David Dawson, on Flickr
I'm thinking about picking up a F or FA85mm version soon while the prices are low and locating the 28mm version if I can ever find one for a reasonable price.

I love the wood grip on the J Limiteds and would love to get one for my KP. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one to order without buying a whole camera?

Dang ok. I just sent a message to Ricoh imaging to see if they’re willing to sell them, I’ll update when I find out.

The northern lights were out last night as I came home from taking my family to the airport for a well deserved vacation. This was my first chance to shoot the lights with my Sigma 10-20 f3.5 HSM, which is mostly what I wanted this lens for, and so far I'm pretty impressed. I was shooting wide open at f3.5 and I'm seeing some pretty smudgy corners in the original files (these have been cropped somewhat), but it was windy and with no infinity stop I'm only mostly sure I had the lens focused at infinity. web-7343 by David Dawson, on Flickr web-7341 by David Dawson, on Flickr web-7351 by David Dawson, on Flickr

It's a great lens and I love mine. It doesn't have good reviews from reviewers who mostly care about shooting brick walls and test charts and other forms of measurebating. It has glowing and loving reviews from photographers who care about how a lens renders, how it makes an image feel and look, and about the lens' build quality. Like the rest of the limited family, this lens has pixie dust in spades. The DC autofocus is smooth, quick enough for most shooting, and accurate. The all-metal build quality gets positive comments from other photographers and lay people alike.
It's not cheap at $800 new, but it is cheaper than buying the 21 limited, the 40 limited, and the DA35, is in the same ball park for lens speed, and adds weather sealing and silent autofocus.
I bought mine because after trying to shoot a family members wedding with the 21 and 40 limited I was quickly over needing to swap lenses to get portraits (best with the 40)and then take a photo of the whole table (with the 21). I've shot two weddings since and the 20-40 was just what I needed. In the end it's become by go-to walk around lens and replaced 3 other lenses in my bag.
