Hi all.
New to Pentax and to this forum, but not new to photography.
Been shooting with cameras since my first Kodak instamatic (126 film) in the 1970s. Progressed through 35mm SLR (Minolta XG-1 and a few Nikon bodies, even a Canonet) and eventually digital (Coolpix 995 (2001), Canon D60 (2002) and others). At long last, I have decided to purchase a Pentax K-5 and a few primes.
I shoot mostly portraits of friends and family, along with some indoors events. Rarely sports or fast objects. I also believe in the digital darkroom, in much the same way that people used chemicals to dodge and burn their photos during negative development. However, it is one thing to adjust contrast and brightness of an image, but it is entirely different (from photo aesthetics) to alter significant aspects, IMHO.
Oh--I dislike the use of Flash (pet peeve) and prefer prime lenses as I zoom with my feet. :)
Anyway, here I am.
Cheers,
Ezra.
