Thanks a bunch. Pretty much what I thought but as kypfer suggests I can certainly have a play with it in RAW+jpeg. I thought the NR would impact the RAW file just like the white balance does. e.g. it's RAW but with the right white balance it saves time in post, already doing a lot of the work.Thanks again

Yes, thanks. Couldn't find the answer to this in the manual or online, but a rapid response on the forum. I agree, the pdf version on my phone is great, I peruse it that way when I'm out and about.

On previous cameras i understood that noise reduction should be done in post processing. But on the K3 iii should I allow NR in camera? I'm tending to trust most other things with this fabulous new camera.

Thanks Craig, yes, it was manual exposure I meant. Really struggled to find this, didn't realise it was so simple. Thanks again!

I've set up a couple User Modes for AF-S and AF-C but I can't seem to set the lighting to be manual, only automatic. Is it possible?
Thanks for any advice.
I'll ask the noise reduction question in a separate post.

Anyone know how I can get the second one to fire. Both have just one large sync lead/jack in the back. I can plug one directly into the side of my k-3 and it works great.
Can't think of any way to get the second one to fire. Any thoughts? Thanks!

that's how it works on any manual lenses I've used, the camera just meters for the widest aperture.
here's a few shots from yesterday using an extension tube. very sharp and decent bokeh

There's not much information out there about this one, a bit of info about the 28mm XL or the AUTO, which this is not.
It takes 52mm filters, has 1:5 macro, it's fairly close focusing and takes very sharp photos, even wide open.
I've done some crazy magnified macros using tubes on this as well.
Very good lens, selling as it's simply surplus to requirements.

I advertised this one awhile back hoping to get £75 ($115) - now selling for firm £50 - and this is a fantastic manual focus zoom lens .

They sell on ebay for up to £130. This particular copy takes great photos, A sleeper lens, this is very sharp at 300 with a steady hand (or tripod). The 48FH lens hood included sells for around £10-20 on its own.
Equivalent to 90-450mm lens on a crop sensor and it has an interesting very close focusing macro option at 60mm (see spider photos). You have to zoom out to 60mm the push and turn in the lens like with the pentax-A 35-105mm f3.5. Then you push and pull on the zoom to focus (as opposed to turning) and/or move closer and farther from the subject.
Signs of normal use, a few small specks of dust but not enough to affect performance. No fungus or scratches on the glass, aperture blades working perfectly, f-stop ring clicks nicely. With a PKA adapter (not included) you will have automatic light metering etc.
Comes with front Tamron cap, correct lens hood and rear Pentax cap (no adapter included).

Excellent manual focus lens in very good condition, takes fantastic photos, beautiful bokeh, very easy to focus, particularly because it's so bright in the viewfinder
Comes with boxes as in photos, front Tamron lens cap, plastic original hood, no adapter or rear cap but will be safely packaged for shipping.
Apertures click nicely into place, with a PKA adapter you will have automatic light metering. No fugus or haze, a few specks of dust which won't affect photo quality. There is some dust under the plastic bit that shows you the focusing distances but that's purely cosmetic (see the 6th photo).
Also welcome to come by (Hackney, innit) and try the lens and pay cash - will throw in a good espresso.
The first image taken with the lens is using a tube and the other two below it are taken with only the lens a few minutes ago, effortlessly...
