I had the same problem. Don't use the Windows Picture Import tool. Use the Pentax utility to get pictures from sdcard to local hard disk. In german "Werkzeuge/Automatische Dateiübertragung". Windows seems to do something with the pictures so DCU is not recognizing them as Pentax pictures.

I had the same problem with the utility. Solution: Pictures must! be imported with this tool from the sd-card to the disk. Otherwise the utility is not realising the pictures as PENTAX photos.

Hallo hcc,
danke für die Antwort. Es hat geholfen. Nachdem ich die Bilder mit PDCU von der SD-Karte importiert habe, funktioniert es jetzt. So einfach kann das Leben sein. Bisher hatte ich die Bilder immer mit dem Windows-Importtool auf die Festplatte kopiert.

Hallo Forum,
ich habe nun meine ersten Aufnahmen mit meiner K-x gemacht und wollte diese mit dem Utility (Version 4.31) bearbeiten. Leider sind alle Bearbeitungsoptionen ausgegraut. Hat jemand eine Idee? Liegt es an den JPEGs? Muß ich RAW erzeugen?
