Ford is totally in the right here. Of course you can't go around publishing their copyrighted material. I don't go around selling copies of the Beatles albums as my own work simply because I deleted the last track.

why are people surprised at this?

K10D shoppers... Who has found the best deal recently (12/12/07)

Prices will definately drop once the new models are announced especially used bodies, which is probably the way I'll be going.

That always happens, just look at what happened to the k100d when the super was anounced

I have this one, and I love it. It is extremely sharp. Only downside is a bit of purple fringing...it is the king among 135's

Suggestion: "Best Deals Thread"

Hey,

I suggest a sticky "Best Deals Thread" in the marketplace forum. Users would be able to discuss where they get the best deals on pentax gear, adorama, keh, etc. People could check high street vs online prices, new vs. used prices. They could also warn people about scam web stores or ebay users that don't ship or describe gear the way they should.

I think this would be helpful for all.

K100D Issues: Three of them
Posted By incitatus
Replies: 7

1. any DSLR shows at best 95% of actual image through the viewfinder. So this may be normal

2. very odd.

3.are you hand holding? if yes SR is no miracel worker, use a tripod. Also on prelonged exposures the SR will always give off a weird "grinding' sort of sound

1 and 3 have explanations, but all 3 together on the other hand sound a bit like a faulty camera. You should really compare with another k100

F 50/1,7

All 50 1.7 have the same optical formula, so excluding changes in the SMC (which won't effect sharpness, I think), they should give the same picture.

Lens decision: Pentax 16-45 and 50-200 combo OR 18-250?

So true! I just don't get why people buy an interchangeable lens system when all they want to do is slap one toally mediocre super zoom on it. It's total madness and a waste of money.

Those people should be getting advanced P&S not (D)SLR cameras

Where are you finding a 50 1.4 for 165 quid. here in london they go for 200.

its so funny that you get one in the US for 200 and the same price here. I wonder where the Pentax finance people learned about exchange rates. (same goes for other brands too though)

I dropped my fa35 the other day with my k100d attached to it :(

not a scratch and both working properly, thank you wall to wall carpet

evenso there's always the creeping fear, is it as sharp as it used to be?

now anxiously awaiting my FA50 1.7

I have an A 50 1.7 and love it to death, it's amazing, all 50 1.7 share the same optics so the F should be just as good. Alternatively you can get an fa 50 1.4 from adorama and have them ship it.

I've bought stuff from adorama and had it shipped over (Norway) and the price + shipping + import tax was still a good deal less than buying new in Norway, especially now with the weak $$

That's the only one I found too and it seems odd to me. It looks as if there should be a ring screwed around the rear element, which is missing in that pic. Am I flippin'?

Ideally I would go for the 50-135 + 43 ltd. that would be an awesome set-up. Hmm should have thought of that myself, maybe add the 35 and you're all set.... anyway I've used up my lens budget for this year at least

I hasten to add that I just bought a an 50 FA 1.7, the FA 50's are awesome lenses

Hey I was wondering if someone here could do me a favour by uploading a pic of the rear end of an FA 50 1.7 (not 1.4), just to help me confirm something.

thanks

Try getting some more contrast in the ice, really brighten it up. that would make it even more dramatic I think.

other manufacturers round their numbers off to the nearest standard 21 -> 20, 77 -> 75, pentax uses the actual numbers
