We're leaving on the 9th of September. I normally use the 28-300 as a everyday walkaround lens. For wildlife I use the Bigma (50-500)

Lens question for Russia trip

The wife and I are going to Russia on vacation and I am debating what lenses to take.
I am wanting to save weight due to a bad back, 2 bad knees and hips.
I will be taking both the K3 and K5 bodies,
my 10-20mm Sigma, the 18-135wr in case of bad weather, and my normal walkaround 28-300 tamron.
We will be doing the standard tourist stuff in
Moscow and St Petersburg.
I have been toying with leaving the 28-300 home and just going with the 10-20 and the 18-135. Not having that 3rd lens would make walking around a lot easier, but will I miss having that extra zoom?
Normally I use the 10-20 and the 28-300 on trips, but seeing as this will be our only trip to Russia, I want the wr lens in case of bad weather

Thanks for any advice
Dennis

The wife & I went on vacation to the Yellowstone N.P. area the end of Sept & first of Oct. While we were there, we went to the Montana Grizzly encounter. First day we were there, there was a heavy snowstron, so we only stayed for about hour. Went back th next day after the storm was over. Got some decent shots. Thought I'd share a few.

When you get your K-3, how will you dispose of your older body

I will keep the K-5 as my 2nd body. The Kx, I will either keep as a back up in case of any problems with the K3, or give it to my house/ pet sitter. I gave him my Pz1 & Pz1p when I converted to digital. Leaning towards keeping it tho. I still love that little Kx.

Don't worry about that. If you want I'll lend you my18-135 on 2 conditions.
1. don't break it
2. Give it back

Or we could shoot something else. Could do the zoo, but would cost $$. Point is I don't think we're lock in to anything yet

My best dates would be the11th or 12th, but I can make the 4th or 5th. I like Ole's
idea of city scrapes or Japanese garden + lunch

I can do any weekend, but the 2nd and last would be best, since wife works those days.
Although I was planning on going to a coin show on the 26th. But I can live with out going. New hobby- coin collecting. Just what I need, a second expensive hobby. Going to go to the poor house REAL fast

Of course it makes a difference if the world ends tomorrow.
But when you think about it, it's already tomorrow in Australia.

Last time we met at McCormick park, we said we would try to do a group shoot every couple of months.
That would be in January.
We should start discussing this if we're going to do something

Shaolen & I are going to try to have a meet up on Friday Nov 30th. He wanted to come to the one at McCormick park, but couldn't. He works weekends, so Friday is about it. Anybody else want to join us? We haven't decided where or what time, so open to suggestions.
How about it? Hopeing to spend more time shooting

Not having a job, I'm fairly flexible. My only tie up is spending every other weekend with the wife. She has 3 day weekends off every other weekend.
But I think we should do some Fridays, so Shaolen can join us. He only HAS Fridays off.
