Thanks! So if sending just the lens, it will probably take much longer?
I attached a shot at 150mm f/2.8. Focusing looks okay? I was focusing on the row which didn't quite align with others.

Got mine today. Everything looks good except that it wouldn't focus in LV. I will have to send it back for firmware upgrade. Does anyone know how long it will take? Thanks!

Did anyone receive any order updates from Adorama? Even I was able to place an order to Adorama through Amazon while there was 1 left, mine was still reported backordered a few hours later. I really have to wonder if it will come back in stock...

I was in the same boat a few months ago and I picked the 35mm f/2.4. 50mm is just too far. The 35mm is even good enough to take pictures of your friends sitting across the table in a restaurant! That full stop does not matter. The 35mm does very well in low light with the K-x.

I recently purchased the Sears 135mm f/2.8 macro. Even at f/8 in non-macro mode, it is not sharp. I suspect that there may be some focusing issue on the lens and I will check on that with debug mode. However, when I slightly shake the lens, I could hear some sound! I wonder if this is something wrong with the lens, or something with the modified mount where the dreadful Ricoh pin was already removed...

I would take the 55-300mm for all the outdoor shots, and the 31mm for indoor shots (like shots of great food in a fancy restaurant).

I was in the same boat as you when I picked up my K-x back in Feb. I ended up getting the Pentax DA 35mm f/2.4 AL lens for $199. It is great for indoor photos as well. I stopped touching the 18-55mm kit lens after acquiring this lens.

Your shots are very nice - obviously better than mine: sharper, brighter, and better composed. I still got a lot to learn. :p

Thanks, everyone. I think these photos are okay. But when I tried to take a picture of my family in some of those indoor scene, I could not focus sharply on their faces easily.

I am a newbie here. I visited Hearst Castle this past Monday. It was very nice. With my K-x, I attached the Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM IF Lens. My other option was the Pentax DA 35mm f/2.4 lens. I picked the zoom lens because I would need the 18mm focal length for small rooms. The place was dark but not that dark. f/2.4 was nice but f/3.5 may be okay. Did I make the right choice? Any feedback/suggestions on the photos would be welcome! Here is the link: Hearst Castle (2011-04-11) - a set on Flickr
Thanks,
Kai
